made a mistake can i fix with...

i made a mistake when i chose my profession (R/W) i'm in the maguuma jungle and someone said i can change later on. i'm getting nightfall for christmas and i'm wandering if i can take my level 17 R/W on it and change my second profession. Sorry if this has been done before but the search bar isn't working.

yes. It'll be a bit. First you have to ascend, then do the quest in droknar's forge, then go back and do the quest that coincides with the secondary you do want. Or, after you ascend, I'm pretty sure you can go to great temple of balthazar and change your secondary there for 500g.

ascend? is that at the end of the game? and if i have faction/nightfall will i be able to get any of there second professions? sorry if i'm n00bie but this is my last question.

Yes if you Own factions or nightfalls you can pick any of their classes as a subclass on any character regardless of where it was "born"

Getting Ascended is about halfway thru the game in prophecies....U still have the entire Southern Shiverpeaks area and the Ring of Fire ...and the Titan's and Sorrow Furnace Quests to finish..

If you get Nightfall before you get ascended and want to check it out real fast just do a couple of quests in Lions Arch and that will take you to Kamadan in Elona, do a few of the noob quests there till u get to the main land..the work your way to the Sunspear Camp (i think) and u should be able to change your profession there..if not find someone that can and party up with them and let them be the leader of the team that way you get "thier" camp spawn which should have the profession changer.

you can do the secondry quests as soon as you have ascended in the desert, they dont take long to do, and will give you access to all core proffessions, you will still need to pay 500g\extra prof learning in Factions and NF though

actually i think you can go to the profession changer in the temple of balthazar and pay 500gold to learn a new profession, that's what i've done several times now.

You still have to be ascended to use the profession changer though.

interesting i didn't know that, as for all my characters are from over a year ago aside from my 2 factions characters but they have both beat prophecies and factions so i didn't know you had to be ascended in order to change secondary professions.

Plus, Tyrian and Canthan characters have to get ascended in either Tyria or Cantha. They can't just jump across to Elona and do the 'Hunted' quest for access to the profession changer in the Command Post.

To clear up some misleading (wrong) information:

First, as an unascended foreigner, you will not be able to change your secondary profession at the Sunspear Sanctuary. You need to ascend in either Tyria or Cantha in order to use any profession changer. Also, guildwiki states that each character must ascend on its native continent, however this is incorrect. While it is true that foreigners cannot ascend in Elona, Canthans can, in fact, ascend in Tyria. I have not specifically tested ascending a Tyrian in Cantha, but I believe it is possible.

Second, the mere presence of the profession changer in the Sunspear Sanctuary will not result in an unascended character being able to use him. This is the same as the profession changer in The Great Temple of Balthazar who will simply not offer services to unascended characters.

Also I dont think you can do the quests of another chapter which allow profession changes with your Tyrian Character, Maguuma Jungle isnt too far away, your maybe 6 missions or so away from ascension, could be less depending where you are. A Solids day play could see you ascended.
