Frame Rate Problem

I gave GW a try today after a several-month hiatus, and noticed a huge FPS drop since my days of playing in September. I usually got at least 30 FPS back then; I consistently had about 10-12 now, low enough to inhibit gameplay. Does anyone know what could have caused this strange drop, and how to fix it?

Several updates have added a lot of nice eye candy that may be taxing your system more than it was. Try lowering your graphics settings some to see if that helps.
