Chest Running Weekend

Interested to know if anyone has had any luck with good drops. I have used almost 30 keys with only 4 golds (ancient keys). All 4 of those drops was normal run of the mill drops.

well m8... that was some bad luck. i only opened like 5 chests all with gold drops, although only 1 good item

opened at least 20 chests. 90% of them were gold but all were crap. Half of those drops were gold spears with crappy upgrades

I have opened over 100.. i think 75% of them were gold.. I have almost only got crap.. No item i can get more than 20k for.. But I got some god upgrades imo..

Out of 30 vabbi keys, I was getting 75% golds. I got several unlocks, a +1 water magic staff upgrade, a perfect r9 furous crenelated spear of fortitude (crappy inscription, but easily fixable), zealous ornate scythe, and a bunch of semi-decent stuff to give to my heroes.

Well, all in all I spent over three hours out and about in Elona last night. Spent time in Mirror of Lyss, Alkali Pan, Yahtendi Canyon, worked my way up to the Fortress of Jahai, and around in the Realm of Torment. Here's the results:
*Finished a couple quests I'd forgotten about, always a good thing
*NO key drops
*Only 4 chests within all the maps, total. Only 1 gold, a nice (high req, tho) 15^50 hornbow that my ranger immediately tried out
*Approx. 2K in gold coins dropped plus whatever pittance the merchant gave me for the other icky stuff
*Black dye - my third in almost a year and a half of play!
*The green Air ele off-hand dropped when I had to persuade the boss to get out of my way. Sweet, my ele can equip it when she goes back to Air and Earth
*Uncovered another nearly 2% of the map for the cartography title
So, all in all, the evening was highly successful even if it was not what was advertised.

I wish I could have found as many chests as you did - they all seemed to have disappeared by the time I started looking around. Six different maps and only 4 chests total = worse than bad luck.

Did 18 Ancient Elonian chests, 17 of them golds. Nothing all that great besides a req 9 Skull Hornbow.
Did about 5 Demonic chests, all gold, got a req 9 Golden Machete and a req 10 Grim Scythe.
Did about 5-7 Vabbi chests, all golds, only thing of note was some Ruby daggers, pulled the +30 fort off them, stuck a Measure-for-Measure on, but they didn't salvage into a ruby. (1 less than max damage anyway)
As usual, I got tons of staffs/wands. Got a few sup runes, none that were worth much though.

50 keys- 41 golds, including MANY perfects, ivy axe, ele sword, hornbow, many many mods.
It was worth it. made over 4 times the key spent.
BTW i run at Gate of Fear to Gate of Secrets.

There's a particular chest spawn in one of the doa areas, similar to the eternal grove area. Opened 64 so far. 64 rares. Nothing decent yet.

I stopped running ancient chests. I have had alot more luck running vabbi and desolation.

Req 11 Purple Magma Shield i sold. Used about 60 keys, 50 or so being gold =)
Nothing overly amazing, a few +30 health mods, a +30 Shield handle, Sup Smiting, Sup healing. Made about 120k off it

I went 3 for 7 on Vabbi chests, then got 4 golds in a row, all req 12 or 13.
*edit* opened about 20 more, at least 7 were purple, only got one gold under req 11 - overall, weeeeak

I've been in DoA all the weekend and I didn't see a purple drop out of a chest. (base: aprox. 200 chests)

Ancient Elonian Chests are only found throughout the Desolation. Make up your mind.

got wisdom and treasure hunter 1 on my paragon now.
DOA was nice drops, except every other drop was Blazing Wing Wand or Talon Daggers :P No wonder everyone plays SF, its the only weapon that drops... my pride and joy from this weekend was my req9 shadow scythe +30.

30 Chests opened, 17 with gold. Most were junk but did get a few perfects and 2 that had runes I was able to sell for over 7k total. Only had 1 key drop though. Still, a good weekend.
Lets have more weekend events like these and less of the really specific events, like double faction for uniqe kills in Random Arenas.

Best drop was a req 9 command Ancient Shield that Guru lists as 80 - 100k ( yay me ) others incuded about 10 or so ignious blades and the same for shadow axes and around 50 ish K in runes oh yeah and a perfect req 9 15 over 50 20/20 +30 nightmare scythe that was a nice find, loads of good mods, my heroes are happy !!

Only chest ran DoA City of Tor'que. 100+ keys and all golds. didn't see a single purple drop for others also while running. Most of my drops were junk except for a r10 gloom +30hp -2 stance i got. all in all i lost money...oh well.

Opend about 50 various chests through the weekend. Best drop was an elemental sword that my ele will be using and a few decent runes. What I don't keep for my heros I'll give to my guild leader for our weekly lotto.
