Touch Ranger Heroes? oO?

I know everyone generally hates Touchers because they are cheap, simple, and boring, but has anyone tried any Touch builds on heroes?

They're not very good at it. Even with melee weapons and no weapon mastery, they have a tendency to stand there and try to hack away at the targets. It's kind of irksome.

You'd have to manually make then spam the skills. While you're doing that, you're not focusing 100% on your job, which is ftl.

Ah. I thought something like that might happen. That's why I figured it would be easier to simply post the question before I left then to try it myself later.
I hate when hero's don't utilize skills properly even when it seems obvious what they shoudl be used for. For instance, try giving a hero Mending...
Ya might as well slap a trout into their hands.

Its like the R/N build used for the AFK LB farming i believe. Ideally they would keep the enemies under constant pressure, but they seem to be slow at using some skills. Scarabs typically only used Vampiric Touch when they were starting to take damage. So it wouldn't work.
Even if it did, they'd be that bad with the AI and E-Management you'd be better running a proper build anyway.

They should add hotkeys for hero skills so that you can easily use their skills :P

Well contrary to what's been said here, i've found my Touch Ranger (Jin) has done exceptionally well. Shes never died (unless it was a full team wipe) and spams the skills fairly well. I've duoed some bosses with her using my Paragon. But maybe im just not paying enough attention.

Same here. She goes in for close range and does a fine job at spamming skills. Only times she had stayed back and used a staff to attack instead is when I have her flagged too far away from the target.

Looks like I'll have to try one out then. ^_^

Well i thought id invest a little more time into this post and it turns out that if your toucher is sent to defense she will use the staff and only 1 or 2 touch skills at a time and then just randomly stand about. So remember kids, when your making a toucher set them for attack.

You could always just write a script to force use of the first two skills on the hero's bar any time they are at <100% HP.

She's good at it. 100% Health? There's a way to remedy that.
Blood Ritual. With expertise, 4 energy only, plus a Barbed Recurvebow of Enchanting.
Signet of Agony.
Plague Touch.
Now what to do with that inhuman reflex?
Distracting Shot.

Jin does really well with a standard touch build (see wiki). The only mods I needed to make was an +5 nrg weapon (totem axe) and an +nrg focus that will provide at least +6-8nrg. Having an armor mod on the focus is a bonus.
Also a superior expertise rune is a must.
Additionally replace at least one defensive stance with a blood line signet (I use barbed) to further help with nrg consumption.
One thing to note though, DP and the associated energy loss becomes problematic for her.
Now if I can just convince the hero monk not to bother healing her so often ..

Im not sure the heros would fully utilize there enegery and offering of blood well. But i haven't tested so its just a guess.

Give her only 1 touch skill, or else she'll run out of energy really, really fast even with 16 explertise.

I tend to use OoF with Jin. She uses the standard Vamp Bite, Vamp Touch, and that other one . Energy seems to be a slight problem because she doesnt use Oof enough. Storm chaser is nice for this.
