I have never played guild wars I'm completely new to it. So should I get just normal guild wars, nightfall, or factions or what not? I'm just confused I don't even know the difference... Could someone please help me out?

I'm pretty sure if you used search or checked Riverside Inn, you could find good opinions. Imo, try getting all of them, if not... get Prophecies or Nightfall. Nightfall is good, and the latest, but prophecy has a buttload of content and a variety of enviornments

Is there any one of them that you need to play? Like is there an original one that you have to have installed to play the others...?

They are all stand alone games. Get Nightfall, it is current and has the highest population of players. If you like it, get the other two.

K last questions... Say you are playing nightfall... Can you still play with players using a different game? And do they add on to each other? Or can you only play one of them...

I'd get the first Guild Wars game, Prophecies. It has an amazing introduction that really hooks you in, some basic characters and a wide variety of skills and the story and map there is incredible. Once you play Prophecies, you'll definitely be interested in the rest of the series.

If only one get the original guild wars prophecies. It is imo clearly the best.

Yes, all the games link together and you will be able to play with any other players that have the same version as you.
