Wintersday Story 2005/06 Onwards

I know this thread seems pretty pointless since there are tonnes here but I just want to know who was there last year and remembers it.. I got guild wars last year for xmas started in pre seering was wondering if there was winter event then came to ascalon and was astounded at the snowing how beautiful it was then I found snowball fights and stuff and I knew straight away.. this was a amazing game and enjoyed it lol I didn't like it when the decorations went away but it was a opportunity to start playing the game and then I did a few missions, went around ascalon thought it was giant... and was so happy.

Then i went to the mountains with this guild I found on a mission and i still am with the leaders and other friends from it in my guild im in now I progressed through the game learnt much more about it, and was pretty happy and started to enjoy it and engaged in some PvP. The game has changed dramatically since I was playing and im pretty happy that I got to see what the game was like before these changes (Shut down of arenas, Opening of PvP Isles, Invasion of old UW PvP Tournament Portal and Factions launching) the game has developed alot, and now Christmas is coming again, I will get my mini-pet and I shall enjoy what I enjoyed last year hopefully besides if you wish to reply to this topic please tell how excited you are about this Wintersday event and your story's on it, Thank you.

Question....Is there a wintersday event in Pre???

Dont think so, but i want Heroes Ascent to be decorated like tombs was i believe

I only remember that I was kinda bored with the game (after only 1.5 month of playing), but that I enjoyed it so much that I got addicted to GW ever since :P

i've been playing GW for a while now.. around 19 months... i have all three chapters. i recently got my g/f playing just before nightfall came out, so she's stuck in factions. I would really like to ask a question of Anet. Why are they singling out players who only have factions on these events? nothing in cantha during halloween... nothing for wintersday.. i've noticed quite a few of their little "weekend events" are no longer applied to all chapters. ok, so its marketing... they want to give people reason to buy nightfall.. ok.. smart move there anet.. upset your players who dont have all the chapters because they can't just go out and buy another one as fast as everyone else. If you're going to hold a big for a longer period than a weekend.. it should really be available for each and every player of the game... We used a "buddy CD-key" to get her into the halloween event, (and also got her a few skills necessary for a fire ele [meteor shower] while she was there) But Anet sees fit to "lock" those skills after that 10 hours is up. Kind of mean to make someone pay for a whole chapter just for a couple skills on their lil pve character, but give out lil free 10-hours that, when they are over, you're character can't use what it learned.

I agree yes factions players also cant play the game as well as people who have played the first game they needed that introduction to the game that people from the 1st one that had and yes factions had two events.. both of them were not really good compared to real world events and factions deserves a event too. and also I was talking about when i got out of the pre
