Is DoA possible for folks that prefer to solo with heroes and henchies? I see a lot of folks pissed off about it's difficulty and was wondering if that's cuz they've been forced to run with PUGs and not with heroes/henchies. I run solo cuz I can't commit to groups and actually have to stop while in instances for as much as 30 minutes sometimes. I'm worried that DoA is out for me.
It kind of reminds me how WoW knocks off people in the high end forcing them to join massive guilds, or endlessly farm. I went back to GW simply because I can play it at my pace, still socialize, and not feel like I've got to always team-up for hours to get to some cool stuff.

how does that answer the OP's question? he was asking if he can do it without any other players.
seeing as how there's no henchies, it'll probably be difficult to do with just yourself and 3 heroes . .. at least until someone comes up with a 4 man build for it.

DoA is out for you.
Minimum time you'll need is 2+ hours, 4+ with PUGs. Heroes are simply too dumb to use them effectively. They can serve in some simple roles in experienced teams, but as equal party members they don't work.
As for cool stuff and all that - there's none of that in DoA. That place is the sake of challenge itself. There are some rewards, but nothing worth the difficulty.
Do it if you enjoy the most difficult area in GW. Play elsewhere otherwise, and buy the gems you need for Razah. Other than that, don't lose any sleep over it if you can't dedicate the time to it.

Ive done small parts of several areas with 1 or 3 heroes.
It is easier with some classes than others.
Right now I am working on Foundry with just 1 hero. Im really just farming the second group of titans.
As far as completing an entire area, I dont think you will get too far with just 3 heroes. Or it would take a huge chunk of time.

Its possible but its rather time consuming. I know that alot of builds are possible but require precise flagging etc. On the bottom line if you have the skill and the time, go for it Just no henchmen btw.

what about a build for 2 real people with 3 heros each? is something like that viable?

Yes. I've been able to survive with a 4 man (3 hero) team in the Ravenheart Gloom using that build that was posted. It's probably a lot easier with real people because the heroes tend to steal aggro faster than you blink.

I have done the quest "The City of Torc'qua" that way, but let me tell you, it is pure pain to manage the heroes and aggro.

The team composition for my successful run contains
2 monks, 1 heal, and one prot with life attune
2 elementists cycling meteor shower to kd, with SF for burning
2 mesmers for damage
1 W/E obsidian flesh tank with endure pain
1 ranger w/ spike trap, again for kd.

2 players + 6 heroes = 8 players
The only difference is that your heroes need to be controlled by you, making it alot harder and time consuming, but if you're good and fast with hero positioning even this shouldn't be that bad.
