I have been using the "Frigid Flame" build I posted in RA for a while... and I really love the shock+awe combo as it takes no build up to use... this is a variation of that build which doesnt use as much from the ele line

your thought are appreciated

name: Shock and Awe Paragon

Purpose: causing greif to casters

skills:

-shock
-awe
-agressive Refrain
-Go for the eyes
-Cruel Spear-Elite (or command elite)
-blade turn refrain (or spear skill)
-Leaders comfort
-Rez of chioce

attributes divided into Leadership, Spear, and Command depending on focus of skills...(I usually choose spear mastery for the head p/sup rune)

usage: wait for warriors to charge in then target caster for shutdown.. cast AR then run in and use shock+awe and start chuckin spears to interrupt using GFTE as a recharge to AR and bladeturn refrain.

Please try this out and let me know any variations tweaks...

Just curious, but do you really need Cruel Spear?

I would swap Cruel Spear for Glyph of Energy and take off Bladeturn Refrain and get Merciless Spear.

The reason for this is to offset the exhaustion caused by Shock, and to make shock basically free.

Otherwise, seems good to me.

thanks for the input

ya the elite is interchangeable with another one...

the first four skills are the meat of the build....

I guess what Im askin for is what others would do to fill out the rest...having the purpose of the build in mind..

i have been using this in Ra a while... and it seems the biggest problem is not energy (45e with proper equipment and upkeep with GFTE)

defense against melee (I miss the blind from "frigid flame" build), additional damage/conditions, more team skills....is what I had in mind

EDIT: oooooo I think I may have the answer

-shock
-awe
-Stand your ground
-soldiers Fury-elite
-GFTE
-Merciless Spear (or bladeturn R.)
-Leaders comfort
-rez of choice(or optional if AB)

cant wait to get home and try it..

another Variation:

-shock
-awe
-blinding surge-Elite
-conjure lightning (chorus of restoration)
-blazing spear (alternative lyric of zeal)
-glowing signet (signet of synery)
-leaders comfort
-rez of choice

attributes: balance your ranks in Leadership, Spear(or motivation), and Air

equipment: shocking +5, radiant

havent tried this one yet either

edit: for the motivation users optional skills added..

and another edit for motivation (AB)

[card]shock[/card][card]awe[/card][card]blinding surge[/card][card]"fall back!"[/card][card]"stand your ground!"[/card][card]blazing spear[/card][card]glowing signet[/card][card]leader's comfort[/card]

-(you only need 4 in spear for the blazing+glow sig)
-you can also replace stand your ground for "go for the eyes" if you want more damage and more energy

What levels do you have in your attribs?

You could run 15 leadership which makes dazed caused by awe last 15 seconds.
Use a silencing spear mod

1. Signet of Judgement (knockdown) 20 sec recharge
2. awe
3. aggressive refrain
4. g4te (to recharge aggressive refrain)
5. Wearying spear (weakness does not apply to skill + dmg bonus, low adrenaline is spammable)
6. optional (barbed spear to cover dazed condition?)
7. Leaders comfort or other heal
8. res of choice

Sig + silencing mod should last until sig is recharged.

- long recharge time between dazed conditions, can be removed easily by fast casting monk spells.
- long cast time on sig of judgement
+ no exhaustion

oooo nice input yobz!

it will take up the elite though....and im not sure why everyone is afraid of exhaustion...it doesnt make that much of a difference...I have been using the blinding surgre build i posted here...and never have lacked the neccesary energy..

but I will definitly try this out thanks

possible down sides:
-as I have stated before warriors, derv, sins, can be greivious when they target you (thats why Im loving the blinding surge skill) leaders comfort is not sufficient to counter focused fire..and there is not much to counter this (and p/mo you will definitly be targeted)

-casting time of signet of judge may be interrupted easier

-not too many skills in the monk proff. synergize with purpose of build (damage dealer shut down) other than sig of judgement and skills like blinding surge come in very handy....

definite upsides:

-allows you to use more in the command/motivation line as attributes in smite are not neccesarily needed (in which case i would choose other skills other than wearying)

-more energy (and actual feasablility with agressive refrain increasing attack speed..which is huge)

-prevents exhaustion of course ..and time between use is not a problem since awe has 20 sec anyway

If ur offsetting exauhs. for shock with GoE, why not just take gale then, so ur guaranteed a nice KD.

Skill slots are precious in this build...since their are so many combos (shock+awe....blazing sp.+glow sig) so I would prefer to just use shock.... like i said earlier...the exhaustion is not that bad...you should only be using shock every 20 sec or so...as that is the recharge for awe

but..yeah good input if youre bringin glyph
