Anyone notice "Game of the Year" upgrade on the store

$4.99 USD gets you the upgrade to "Game of the Year" edition of Prophecies if you don't have it. I'm still not sure if a few items are worth 5 bucks. They seem like great items for new characters but after that ehh!

Just bought it myself, it was worth the £2.99 for the shield skin alone. As rubics says, second reason I got it, was for the heroes. This, along with the preorder items from NF + Factions, means you have a max damage weapon for every class, which you can spawn as many times as you like!

Nice... bought myself a pack. Yeah wonder if you can get the preorder items... even though they aren't maxed weapons still nice to get them though.

I won't be buying them until they fix it so the weapons can be modded again. Missing a mod per weapon is just worthless imo. No matter how pretty the skin is.

Master always had the shield cuz there was no green shields and very very few rare shields match the stats of it. Bloodlight switch back to a hammer with HP30 mod on it whenever he's got low on HP. They were showing off.

Please Anet, with limited skins for certain items, bonus items are sometimes the only way to get a skin a player likes. Let us change the mods on them theres no reason not to let us. I think they should be dyable too seeing as theres again no reason not to let us do that.

Well I usually buy all the upgrades lol cause im a bit silly...
So, considering i have 4 accounts in total and wanted to purchase the upgrade for each account I went to the store for each account and proceeded to purchase said upgrades until I got to the fourth account upgrade where i was informed that it was the stores opinion that the transaction I was attempting to purchase was "fraud suspicious" and denied it. I would like to say that credit card companies have checks in place to police activity that seems suspicious that are very effective and I really don't need Anet or NcSoft or their merchant to be policing my account purchase transaction activity. It's not as if I haven't purchased many things through the store before...

Nice of them to add this upgrade, some of the items you can get look really nice. I don't plan to get it however, till they fix the fact we can't unlink the shop from our NCSoft account.

It is just me, or are the stats on the GOTY items pretty crap? The shield is useful, but other than that, the items don't even have suffix upgrades. If they were upgradeable, I'd probably buy it just for heroes, but as they stand, the items are pretty useless, other than just looking pretty.

I don't like how some of the items promote detrimental 3-way attribute splits, such as the Wolf's Favor, Insightful Soul Shrieker and Tiger's Roar.
I mean, if the bow works on Marksmanship alone and the hemmer works on Hammer Mastery alone, why the hell couldn't the spellcaster items be single-attribute?
They're not even THAT useful as hero items at the moment due to these splits.

I didn't know there was an upgrade for the Prophecy Side..
The great benefit of this upgrade is that not only do you get some great items but you can give them to your heroes as well. For my Ranger for example the bow was perfect so now I can delete some of the bows I had in my reserve. The shield was also another great nugget/find. This upgrade was definately well worth it. Since it is a bonus item you can reproduce the items until your heart is content so you gotta love that.

I would like to say thank you to the people that stood in that long line at my local compusa during my lunchbreak yesterday. You guys saved me about 50 bucks. If you guys weren't there I would have bought the G.O.T.Y edition to add to my existing acct. Now I can spend $4.99 + tax and get the same results.

I've got greens for my heroes so don't think I'll be getting it. Had they added the fancy dances or something like in the collectors edition, I might've dipped in me pocket. Great idea tho, to allow people to upgrade.

Heh, oh well. I bought a GOTY to add to my primary account last summer, but held off on buying it for secondary accounts because of talk about this possibility months ago. Could have saved me $30-35 but I was hedging my bets.
Anyhoo, of these items, I use the shield quite a bit. The Wolf's Favor is nice for monk heroes. The bow is great as a pulling bow for anybody because of its extremely long range. I use the Tiger's Roar for ele heroes.
Definitely worth $5 IMHO. Now that a cheaper option is available I may add it to other accounts.

Also, I think there are financial incentives that CC companies give to merchants when they do such things.

Thanks for pointing this out, I just might make my first purchase from the online store. I got a GoTY account for storage recently, and was thinking of getting more to add to my existing accounts for my perma-pre-searing characters - I'll think I'll just use this upgrade instead.

I already have GOTY edition Prophecies. I hope that after a certain amount of time they do this for Factions. I can never find any good Assassin weapons. I always end up with weird mod combos that don't make any sense.

Bought mine in 5 minutes of the game update. Lol. It was totally worth it for my heroes. I really like the skins (RHINO'S CHARGE FTW) lol. A factions GOTY wuold be interesting too. I wish they would let you mod it.... my nevermore needs it

I would say for future they should put how to obtain the items somewhere in either the store description, the email sent after purchase, or an ingame message when you start up.
When I first got the GOTY upgrade I couldn't figure out how to get the items.

I just wish you could spawn them individually xD takes up rather alot of space in your inventory if you have the preorder items from the campaigns too :S
