Spiked Eggnog Killed

Yea for about 2 hours we could get eggnog for losing in the Snowball fight but now we get jack squat for losing.

Despite the title, I think all the fun of the Snowball fight has just disappeared. Before the patch you diddn't care if you win or lose, now people are going tooth and nail just to get 3 CC shards and people drop if their side is losing.

Please remedy this and give us back our booze!

why should they give the eggnog back? all it did was encourage people to leech . ..

Dropping it now encourages people to drop.

But both our argument are post hoc ergo proctor hoc (sp?) and thus moot. My real gripe is that Eggnog is a holiday staple, and they killed it!

Make that you only get one if you have a kill, or brought a present, if you are worried about leechers.

Before they fixed it, there were TON of people that were always AFKing for it. :]

I'd like to say thanks to ANet for taking away the eggnog prize. It was driving me nuts earlier trying to find a decent random group without afk'ers in it. I quickly got fed up and just stopped playing the snowball arena altogether. I understand your original intentions were good (everyone wins even if they don't), but there always has to be a bunch of lamers ruining it for everyone.

Isnt there a collecter that trade's u char carvings for candy canes and eggnog's?

Ehh, I played non stop for like 5 hours. Didn't see any afkers pre booze fix (though I could see the reason to do so), nor did I see anybody drop afterwards.
Quite unfounded and snowball arena is still perfectly fun.

Clearly people were having way too much fun and so they had to take it away

I liked it as well, but I can understand the leecher issue.

Personally, I would rather them replace the eggnog (which is in high demand) for something silly like Snowman Summoners or something that won't see very high dollar amounts and provide a bit of fun outside of the arena.

I would like to see AFKers kicked from the game if they go AFK for a set time repeatedly in these missions.

I want booze!! Bring back the booze!!!!

Wow thats a bummer. I doubt i am even going to bother with Snowball Fights then since i just wanted the booze. To much of a strain for a chance at 3 CC shards or nothing.

i say we should get a random item whenever we bring a present to the avatar and when you win a round.

It's always the idiots who ruin it for everyone. It was a necessary "fix" to prevent leeching, sorry to say.

I actually had fun during wintersday even I stopped after winning 20 games (200 in my gaming title bar) the thing that annoyed me the most during the snowball fight were the leachers, all they did was join a game do nothing and end up with free eggnog which they could sell later for money. it annoyed the heck out of me since i just wanted to keep winning and playing.

How are they suppose to drop free beer for doing nothing when there's drunkard title? Sorry duders, but that would have ruined the game, I saw a few leechers myself. Nice job fixing it Anet!

While I'm sure the free goodies via a loss will be missed, they had to be removed to stop leeching.

A.net did the right thing.

I played on the euro server for the first couple hours after it went live, and something like 50% of the groups I was in had a leecher in them. I was not impressed. This is a good fix.
