**** Complete Guide to the Wintersday 2006 Event ****
Feathermoore Rep
You gotta make sure that you dont jump to a higher district that didnt exist before the start of the event. If the district was created to late then it won't get the event. Stick to districts between 70-99 for the jump district thats about the range of districts before they all start filling up before the event.

So whats the official word on there being a trader that gives rainbow candycanes? Really didn't want to keep all these shards if they aren't gonna be used for anything but betting on Dwayna or Grenth and cc weps. Should i keep em and risk wasting em?

no. it will give your part a +5% morale BOOST. meaning it will increase the party's morale by 5% from whatever they had.

Where is the NPC for wintergreen items?
Shadowfox1125
Wintergreen items aren't available. Gaile said to expect them mid-January.
What do you think it more profitable, selling presents, or opening the presents to sell the goods?

I see presents going for 500 to 700 in Kamadan D1.. I guess waiting a bit would be best. I have 183 gifts in my storage and I desperately need gold.
Btw, nice Ganon avatar.

Well, that was the last of the event. Personally, I had a blast. I'd like to thank ANet for having it, I'd like to thank everyone that contributed to this guide, and a big special thanks to RTSFirebat for making yet another amazing guide. Merry wintersday!

Sweet! The CC Shards still have a purpose!
I think I still have 100 or so left, and didn't lose much money on the others (I think I was selling them for around 50 gold to 100 gold each when everyone else was dumping them for 10-20 gold)...

Has anyone heard anything further on a holiday storage area yet?
bebe
Holiday Storage = Festival Hat maker. :|
Ayres_Spellbinder
Will he still be here after the holidays? He isn't per sey a storage, he'll just make hats for your other characters.

Mournblade
I believe it was stated that the tournament prizes would be given out sometime in mid January, so hold tight a little longer.
Arkantos
Looks like Wintersday is still around, and there may be a surprise this week, so I'll re-stick.

Why on Earth would we do that? None of the event guides have ever been closed. Once events are over they are normally moved to a private forum for storage and later added to the front end of the site.
Tobias Funke
Can you buy a festival hat you don't have from someone else (though it's customized for them) and show it to the festival hat NCP to unlock that hat for yourself?
Ryo Azuro
Tobias, you cannot do that, I'm afraid. If you were not available for the hats on Jan 1st - 12:01 a.m. on the 2nd, then you cannot get the hats.
If you get a hat from another player, then it won't work.

I have the order in which baddies appear in both "you're a mean on , Mr. Grenth" and "In Grenths defense". "In Grenth's defense" is easier so I will list that one first.
"In Grenth's Defense"
There are 25 Snowmen (including Freeze) in the basic quest. I will list them in sets of five even though there is now wave resemblance.
1-5 Snowman, Roguish, Snowman, Bustling, Snowman
6-10 Bustling, Snowman, Grumpy, Snowman, Grumpy
11-15 Snowman, Glimmering, Snowman, Blessed, Snowman
16-20 Impeccable, Snowman, Chilled, Snowman, Industrious
21-25 Snowman, Mischevious, Rotund, Pious, and finally Freeze
BONUS: You must defeat six waves of six snowmen each, while they spawn more and more frequently. The progression of snowmen goes as follows:
Wave1:Snowman, Snowman, Snowman, Mischevious, Roguish, Bustling
Wave2:Grumpy, Grumpy, Grumpy, Chilled, Pious, Playfull
Wave3:Roguish, Industrial, roguish, Impeccable, Glimmering, Blessed
Wave4:Industrious, Playfull, Playfull, Cordial, Chilled, Rotund
Wave5:Industrious, Playfull, Playfull, Cordial, Chilled, Pious
Wave6:Industrious, Playfull, Playfull, Cordial, Chilled, Rotund
"You're a mean one, Mr. Grenth"
First Present: Guarded by two grentchies; Speedy, Grentch
Second Present: Guarded by just one Shifty Grentch
Between 2&3: There is a roaming Grentch that goes back and forth under the bridge, there is another Grentch at the top of the bridge, and there is a Tricky at the other side of the bridge.
Third Present: Guarded by four; Grentch, Hasty, Icy, Sneaky.
NOTE: you can take out most of the baddies for the third present from the second... The grentch to the left is easy, the Icy and Sneaky you will have to "attack" (Even though you can't hit them) from the wall then back up untill they are on the edge of the wall. Snowfort yourslef and take them out.
Roamers: There are three roamers; Tricky, Hungry, Dodgy in that order. Be carefull, they have a tendancy to sneak up on you while you are dealing with the Tricky on the other side of the bridge.
Between 3&4/5: There are 3; 2 Sacrificial, and one Grandious in the open area after present 3.
Present four: Guarded by Three; Hungry, Sacraficial, and Troublesome.
On the hill before Present five: There are three; Veracious, Icy, and Flashy.
Present Five: Guarded by Three; Icy, Tricky, and Gretchus Maximus.
BONUS: You must defeat six waves of six grentchies each, while they spawn more and more frequently. The progression of Grentchies goes as follows:
Wave1:Grentch, Grentch, Grentch, Tricky, Sneaky, Speedy
Wave2:Sacrificial, Sacrificial, Sacrificial, Icy, Hungry, Dodgy
Wave3:Sneaky, Troublesome, Sneaky, Veracious, Flashy, Shifty
Wave4:Troublesome, Dodgy, Dodgy, Frozen, Icy, Grandious
Wave5:Troublesome, Dodgy, Dodgy, Frozen, Icy, Hungry
Wave6:Troublesome, Dodgy, Dodgy, Frozen, Icy, Grandious
NOTE: The bonus for both games is essentially the same thing but with the opposite diety's minions.
Snowman=Grentch
Mischevious=Tricky ~Hidden Rock~
Roguish=Sneaky ~Snow down the Shirt~
Bustling=Speedy ~"Let's Get Em!"~
Grumpy=Sacrificial ~Possibly yuletide blues~ though I have never seen it used
Chilled=Icy ~Ice Spikes~
Pious=Hungry ~Mmmm Snowcone~
Playfull=Dodgy ~Sidestep~ (Rarely Used)
Industrial=Troublesome ~Jack Frost~ (If they get the spirit summoned use snowfort and take it out)
Cordial=Frozen ~Ice Breaker~
Rotund=Grandious ~Mega Snowball~
NOTE: AL COUNTS!! but only in the cases of the grumpy/sacrificial and the Pious/Hungry AFTER they have eaten Snowcone.
NOTE: Weapons or offhands that "Halves Casting time of spells XX%" DO WORK!!! You can actually cast 4 snowballs in the time it should take you to cast 2
