Hi,
I know the new hat NPC can make hats that you already have, but what if you had to get rid of your hat long ago? Or what if you missed a day where an event took place? IMHO I think it would work best if it just checked your accounts age, and allowed you to purchase hats that you missed out on.
I was lucky enough to not miss Halloween this year so alll my characters are fitted with pumpkins, and wicked hats. Don't get me wrong I love the new option, but IMO it could work a little better.
Maybe if you brought him some common materials he could make you something. Like some wood for antlers, some bone for the tengu mask, scales for the dragon mask, etc.
What do you think?

Not sure.
Don't get me wrong, I missed Winter's Day last year and so missed out on the horns and Santa hat; I'd dearly love to have them.
But this would kinda take their novelty value away.

You missed the event, you don't get the hat. The fact that you had to be there, to have experienced the event, is what makes them so special.

You got rid of the hat or never received one. That's just to bad.

well, i was there for the event and got the yule cap.
but about a month later my friend went on my account and deleted my character that had it..
i think that the hat npc should grant u another hat because u had one in your character's span
but thats just my opinion

There are some special event hats I don't have either. While I'd really like to have them, it doesn't seem at all in the spirit of the whole special event idea in the first place. So I'm voting with the people that say if you want hats
- you have to have been there on at least one character to get a hat
- you have to still have the hat(s) and the character it was originally made for

Account/character age doesn't seem a fair way to judge who "deserves" hats in comparison to just limiting it to people that have hats and characters they valued enough to get in the first place and hang onto.

I have the same problem. I deleted my hats because I didn't have room for them and they were useless. But I am guessing at the time you got the old hats Anet didn't record if your account had it unlocked, so the feature can't be retroactive.

As much as I want my hats I trashed, /notsigned

So it's my fault that I couldn't log onto Guild Wars for a month last year (gg, internet provider.), thus missing the entire Halloween event, and getting my guild disbanded during my absence?

And that my computer crashed when I was afk'ing (had to leave to some party, parents got pissed because I tried to stall the entire thing) in a district which would deliberately go for Grenth?

Great, then. How special. How fubar.

I really want some friggin' Horns of Grenth. Can't ANet just make it dependant on the age of the account...? >.>

EDIT: Oh... and for the Tengu mask... not a hard issue. Make the program see if the preorder key is attached or not, in order to get it.
