Is it true that the only way to get candy cane shards this year is to play the snowball fight?

Is it impossible for people nowadays to ask a question without the need to insult or put down something else?

i doubt it very much,ive heard u get alot from the quests..when they come.

At the moment its seems that way, but i am sure as the days get closer to the main event, there should unfold more games/ways for us to get CCS. But this isnt confirmed as such, and we will have to wait and see. cheers.

Last year they were a drop and found in Winter Gifts. So far I've only seen them in the snowball arena. In short, they might end up being a bit like Jade Wind Orbs in quantity if the quests give a good number shards...

No idea what we'll use them for yet, other than a mention to save them for the finale...

Had one just drop in Desolation after the update.

I got two in Mehtani Keys just now.

Yeah, I got 3 in Plains of Jarin.

Just got 3 outside the sunspear great hall.

I got a bunch outside nolani academy >_< My gargoyle skull hunting has turned more into CC shard hunting.

I got one from the second to last Elonian Mission!

I got 11 while clearing out the area outside Ascalon while Spiked nogging it up

i got 3 from Skeleton Rangers etc fro, kryta..farming emblems and shards at same time w00t

Do we know what they are used for?

Do we need them for the hats on Jan 1 or are those like it was for halloween?

The better question is, "Do we know how many we'll need to be prepared?" This is a tough time of year for people to find time to devote to the game. Many of us (myself included) will spend a couple hours ahead of time to get the prerequisite amount and not otherwise be playing except to attend a finale on the 1st.

Shards are even dropping from the NPCs in Fort Aspenwood.
