The solution, imo, is to not allow teams to stay together. It seems that once a good team "happens", they own anyone who tries to get into the game. That's not my idea of fun. Speeding it up and making it more frantic might help, too.

I played several sessions yesterday and didn't win once. I was getting better - taking down carriers and scoring myself, but it doesn't matter if the rest of the team isn't performing.

I'm sorry, I don't want to whine - the event is great in terms of atmosphere, I can see a lot of effort has gone in, but *that* game is just not fun.

I think there are alot of people like me playing, who dont care about winning or strategy, but just running about fragging people.

I assume like last year you have to run presents to gain points, i think ill just set myself to offline (so i dont get hate PM's calling me noob), and just run about fragging.

Yes, but to learn you need to listen to advice and directions of more exp players.
Its the snowball arena, suprisingly enough alot of people dont take it very seriosly and dont care one bit about playing as we "should", thats what the real pvp modes are for.

I don't think a TA snowball is the key, the key is removing gamer points so nobody complain about "noobs" as there are no reward for winning but fun.

Mainly had incapable teams. Been in several where one or two know what to do but the third "dead weight" makes winning against competent people difficult. Good examples include body blocking people with presents and then dual running a present to prevent us losing it. Bad examples include people making no attempt to stop the opposition. Main problem is that people 1. Stand around killing people. 2. The whole team tries to cap one present for the hole match while one player on the other team can easily run in 5 presents Oo.

Too frustrating for me, and 3 CC shards don't cut it at as a reward for the inordinate amount of rage caused, much worse than playing RA, much worse than PUG HA, much worse than anything. Maybe if they were handing out 3k per match...

I don't blame the newbies. I blame the leechers. If they didn't have to ruin the fun, perhaps the losing side could get some compensation.

Lame leechers ruining the fun yet again.

Yep yep, my agreement is wholehearted. The real problem is people take this game way too seriously. Everyone wants to "'own" and get titles to show other people how "great" they are. It's a video game people. Barring the simulation type games used to train in the military they are made to be fun! It's a snowball fight, not Heroes Ascent. You just can't have nowadays can you? No, you have to find some negative to say about someone else because you aren't getting your "Skillz" title as quickly as you'd like, or you didn't get any candy cane shards. Grow up.

My only complaint about the snowball fights are that all the characters aren't dressed in big bubble jackets, ear muffs and snow boots. That would have been ace. Ah, memories of a childhood long gone.

While some may have fun playing a game with a win condition that you cannot win because you are stuck in a team who will not try to complete said condition, most people just find it annoying.

I mean, one or two of your team is AFK getting easy faction, one or two is running around like an idiot, and teams either go on till they are bored, or knocked out in one round. Not my idea of fun. Then again pugging UW or FoW with noobs was not my idea of fun either.

There is only one thing i seriously don't like about the Snowfights. Avalanche >>>>> Yellow Snow. Other than that, i'm having fun and whenever i recognize a "leet flamer" from shouting newbie insults earlier in the district, i will make sure to send him some special gifts in the match should i meet him. .

Playing with people who don't share the same mentality and skill level as you is frustrating whether there's a reward or not. It's not fun for casual players to play with serious players, and it's not fun for serious players to play with casual players. The casual players will be wondering why their teammates are so anal about something that's supposed to be 'for fun', and the serious players will be wondering why their teammates are all ****ing idiots.

Separating the snowball fight into RA and TA would provide each type of player their own game, just like RA and TA do now. The casual players can screw around in RA to their hearts' content, and the serious players after titles, shards, and real competition can go to TA.

Yes, they were all W/Mo.
That's funny - the poorest players in the Snowball fight I've seen so far are Necromancers. They seem to be in love with the Holiday Blues skill, and like to kill themselves even while at full health.

Absolutely!

Some people play games for fun, regardless of their wins.

Some people look at playing games as fun as long as you are winning.

Seperating those two would make both parties happy.

On a seperate note, I ended up in a great group last night where we were all r3/6+. After 2 wins we all jumped on vent and continued to "pwn" people til we got bored. This was great, but always ended in a "gg".

I had the same problem with teams not knowing what they were doing, but than again I didn't really know myself. After a few matches though I caught on, and went on a streak with a team for 12 consecutive wins. It's fun - no need to get frustrated - the thing you have to remember is once a team gets on a streak they stick together until they lose. You probably have been fighting winning teams. You'll get a good team - just have fun.

Original poster is spot on with the original post.

The problem is that Snowball Arena requires masses of Presearing-level PVE players to perform R9+ PVP Player Relic Run skills. Obviously this is a leap of skill so grand that it requires a miracle that in reality, will almost never happen.

They should allow you to choose your teams in Snowball Arena so that good players are not forced time after time to group with masses of Presear-level players who are incapable of competing in Snowball Arena properly.

Alternatively, they could simply remove the presents/relic run aspect of the game entirely and have it actually just be a simple snowball fight.

Doing either of those things would lessen the frustration for good players by about 100 billion fold.

I'm a snowball noob, I couldn't really care who wins/loses, and I certainly don't give more than a cursory moment to what the skill description actually says. I throw my snowballs, have fun and that's that.

I only just realized that armor meant nothing, so I have now started to frolick without such encumberances . . ..
