WHat are the chances, Anet?
2 pages • Page 2
Anet has done all that really matters to fix it. They set it up so that most games start at 30-second intervals, so join-spiking isn't as effective. If (random number) 3,000 games are starting every 30 seconds, that's less of a chance that a join spike will occur than with another game starting 15 seconds after one has finished.
It's fairly difficult to join spike successfully because of this, and really, who cares that much about it? RA is casual PvP to test things out, get used to playing something, etc. It's not supposed to be serious, so balance problems can be overlooked. Take for example the Dwayna and Grenth sides in snowball fights. To most, Dwayna is clearly superior, but since it's supposed to be fun, not serious, who cares?

This bug needs to be fixed. And ID and AD teams sometimes seem to mix once inside, i.e. I played in ID today ran into one team, owned, got fed up, went to AD, entered, 2 rounds later played the SAME TEAM who had set up a definitive build and owned me (again). Now it wouldn't be that bad if it were only RA ID, but when they're mixing... its ridiculous.

How exactly does saying "this thread will be closed" contribute to anything? Seems way more useless than the original post. Go and be proud of yourselves.
Giving a player an NOP if the only slots available are on teams with one or more players from the same guild (alliance?) seems like a way to fix it. Sure, XoO might suffer, but it's all for the greater good :P
Although it still doesn't prevent friends from different guilds joining the same team.

Oh look a pvper moaning AS USUAL what a shock.
1) THIS IS NOT A PVP GAME IT NEVER WAS, IS NOT, AND NEVER WILL BE.
2) WHO THE *&*&^*ING HELL CARES ABOUT something this IS NOT an exploit. An exploit is a bug that gives someone an unfair advantage. Since this is NOT a bug and gives NO ONE an unfair advantage. Go moan somewhere else.

1) Actually, PvE'rs moan the most, after all this game is mostly pvers anyway.
2) Actually, this is a PvP game, it always was, and it always will be, in all ways of the game. I mean look at it, everything is skill based and balanced, so how can that not be pvp based first of all?
3) Who cares that this is a pvp exploit? People who play pvp, the real skilled players (yes this is controversial to some but that is only for the people who aren't good enough to pvp and play the pve arguement) of this game, because pvp is what this game revolves around, like it should.

Hmm, excuse me.
There is a view point you all haven't taken a look at.
Newbies to PvP (not noobs, I mean the real beginners) can't access TA or HA until they've unlocked them, so they HAVE to play RA, for improving their own player skill and acquiring Balthazar faction (remember, PvP is completely unlinked to PvE, one player may decide to start playing GW just for its PvP).
Think of it, you are a beginner on this game, maybe using a trial key and you end up playing against people with a similar tag in the end of their character names which with the least common sense will notice it's the same guild tag. This will cause an incredibly negative impression for you, the beginner.
Plus, there is a title called Gladiator which can be easily farmed with this exploit. You may not give a sh** to a title, but it increases your Balthazar faction cap, and it's a title, a way to show your acomplishments. There are people struggling in RA with random people and in TA with guild groups to get this title, and others are just exploiting the system, yes it's an exploit, you get an obviously unfair advantage by playing with a non-random team (hey, isn't this place called Random Arenas?).
The OP was poorly written if the intention was to get a fix for this exploit. What you made was only inviting people to flame you.
Besides fansite forums, you could have sent a report to ANet's support, you know, they have a priority list and chances are the sooner you report a bug the sooner it will eventually get fixed. I really don't know how ANet couldn't have noticed this flaw on the matchmaking system yet, or if they did notice, why they haven't fixed it. Please don't give a poor excuse saying it's hard to be done, because it IS done, and a lot of exploited gladiator points have been awarded already by this exploit, plus the negative impressions on random teams playing against this non-random team.
My post is not intended to be a flame or anything negative. I'm interested in seeing this exploit fixed as much as anyone wanted (including me) to see HA as it is now, no longer 6v6 "Heroway Battles".

If this game has a majority of pvers as you say, there must be something for them to do otherwise they would'nt play here. So therefore this MUST be a PVE game. IF one of the founders of ANET says this was designed as a PVE game but they added pvp to it for something to do after you have finished the MAIN IE PVE part of the game then thats what it is.
1) pvpers do NOTHING BUT moan. Be it that so and so skill is unbalanced and must be nefred or about some exploit that DOES NOT EXIST. it ALLWAYS something.
2) Try again this HAS NEVER BEEN JUST A PVP GAME AND NEVER WILL BE. The games revolves around what the VAST majority of the people playing this game DO. IE PVE.
3) Right so just becasuse its skill based and balanced it must be a pvp game. What makes you think that. Oh wait a min of course you did'nt think or can't as if you HAD, you would of seen how stupid that statement was.
