Okay I went out and purchased Nightfall after originally playing the first on release but who knows where my copy of it went now.
I was thinking of re-purchasing Guild Wars original and was wondering do you need to install them in a certain order?
I have installed Nightfall and it brings up my original character made many moons ago on Guild Wars. Is this right? Do I need to re-purchase the original to play? I also noticed it shows a 'add the existing key to an existing account' unchecked.
Do I need to check this or have the original installed agian first?
Very quick question about installation...

no need to repurchase guildwars: prophecies because you already added the key to your account. it will automatically download and update anything needed that you haven't got on your system each time you zone.

You only need to install one game. You just need to add the key to your account to unlock the Nightfall stuff since it is all the same client.
No if you already have Prophecies on your account you don't need to re-buy it.

Technically yes, if you already have Guild Wars installed and your purchase Factions you just need to add the key to your existing account, no installation required

When you create a new character, it'll ask where you want to start. The six basic classes can start in any of the 3 campaigns (if you own the campaign), the specialty characters (dervish, paragon, etc) can only start in their respective campaign, but you can do a quest at a certain point in the storyline that will allow you to take them to a corresponding point in one of the other campaigns. Please note, you will never be able to take a dervish, etc to presearing ascalon.
