I'm wondering to.
Still no info about how to obtain them or were they drop. The only use however i have found is to get some Tonic.
I Guess they still haven't got in-game. Like the use for the Candy cane shards. (wich will be used for candy weapons most likly, like last year)

earlier, i was talking to all the NPC's, and 1 of them said....And the Gate to the tobms is frozen over...
something along them lines, so maybe u go in there for frozen ectos?

Theres the holiday mission and therse our source of frozen ectos.

maybe the frozen part of the ecto will melt in the summer events and then you get ecto!

Nope, notice it says venture into UW? Do you do that to get to the snowball arena? Nope. Also, can you control piles of presents in the snowball arena? Nope
My guess is this isnt a fight vs other people, its one of the 'missions' coming tomorrow where you chose to fight grenth's forces or dwayna's forces......getting frozen ecto either as a drop or for winning.

ya the UW sounds like the right thought. Maybe the prize for winning. Hopefully theyll do the same thing as with the CC shards allowing monsters to drop them. My guess is the tonic turns u into a Enchanted Snowman like the tonics from halloween did. Or maybe it'l turn u into a grench! That'd be sweet.

But reading it they dont sound anything alike other than the presents and the fact they are snowball fights
Although it sounds fun and somethign you can actually team up for.I am certain that this is the place to get Frozen Ectos (could be like the PvP version - you get a certain amount of Frozen Ectos when you win)

If I remeber correctly, the snowball arena last year was technically in the Underworld, although you didn't have to enter the underworld from ToA to get there. You just talked to the guy who would transport you there.

In lions arch there's an NPC ( near the 2 avatars of dwayna an grenth) who looks exactly the same as the grenth avatar.. 'he should have a green exclamation mark over his head the first time you meet him'.. you can find him near a hill somwhere near the gates wit lions..
He can give you two quests.. His name is 'Rift Warden' if ur not sure
Both of these quests take you into the UW region if you agree to, go solo for both of them cause its easy
One you will fight wave upon wave of snowmen using snowball fight skills (very easy)
in the other you will fight grentches using snowball fight skills (be careful! they use their skills quite well) In both of these quest areas the mobs can drop globs of Frozen ectoplasm (bosses 2 globs) and Candy Cane Shards (always 1 - no colour) -- when u think quest is ending soon leave area..if u accidentally complete it- abandon it in town an do it again. Just farm the mobs an you should get 2-5 ectos a run ( 8 mins avg.).
After that you can sell the ectos 4 a decent cheapie price fast 700 ea 4 example an make an easy 5k or so every 20 mins
If you want to buy those stupid Yuletide Tonics for elf transformations >>>>
then you look 4 an npc called #### the tonic maker ( forgot his full name) an you can trade one glob of frozen ectoplasm for one tonic
there is NO other way to get the globs after the quest r done unless on another character.
I hope this cleared ppls brains a bit.

If you finish the quest for one god and turn it in for the reward you must either do the quest for the other to go back to the first or abandon the new one and log out and you can do the completed quest again.

I have been hearing more and more about frozen ecto's turning to real ecto's after event. One guildie also heard of someone 500k on them. I am just tryin to clarify on the subject so we can maybe quell the rumor if needed, 500k is a lot to spend on a whim. And if you have genuine info on the subject, pls tell me which npc or website told you. thanks.

frozen ectos changing to real ectos is complete and utter BS. Anyone who's telling you that is either trying to scam you in some fashion, or has been scammed themselves in some fashion without realizing it. It's no different than the people who tried to sell customized dragon masks by saying that ANet was going to add an NPC to remove the customization.
