I use Zealous Butterfly Knives of Fortitude most of the time on my 'sin... Sundering sucks, especially with a damage range as low as the dagger's is, and well... Critical Strikes isn't reliable enough to regain energy.

sundering is absolutley useless on daggers because, like stated above, they have a low maximum damage and have a big chance for critical strikes anyway. i strictly use zealous daggers, 1 slashing damage/1 piercing damage, and ill very occasionaly use vampiric. i like zealous because it makes regular attacks cost 1 energy less and dual attacks 2 energy less (if they hit that is). because of double strikes and fast attack speed of daggers, zealous offers great energy management--something an assassin really needs.

Zealous is the only way to go.

That being said, I have a pair of Silencing Steel Daggers of Dagger Mastery for a very specific build

Yep, zealous is the best in most cases, although I suppose there's always exceptions. A select few builds might benefit more from vampiric or something. Zealous just works so well with pretty much every build, mainly because assassins need a lot of energy, and because the fast attack speed and double hits of daggers makes zealous so sweet.

Slashing damage, so you don't get WTFPWNED by shield's up. Though you in turn get WTFPWNED by bladeturn refrain or whatever, but at least you don't miss.

I obviously interpreted the question differently than everyone else.

zelous are good - i use them in pvp but on my sin when its not using a bow (which it uses 99% of the time) i use shiro's blades (just coz they look so frking badass) or barbed/poisonous zodiac daggers of fortitude (not sure weather poisonous or barbed - i would make em zelous i just aint found a zelous mod yet)

It was part of the update.
Anyway... Zealous / Armor or Fortitude depending on situation is the best.
Zealous is like required for most highly energized combos.

zealous, and a backup non negative set, with 30hp~.

not a fan of bleeding, as mostly stuff should die so quick it wont stop bleeding till a minion is raised from its carcass

Considering how energy heavy most assassin chains are, I'd go with zealous. I'm not a fan of condition-lengthening mods, as conditions tend to be removed. Maybe a lengthens daze mod in 4v4, but overall zealous.

I would say have a pair of zealous, vampiric, elemental, and condition.

My ideal set of daggers:
- Slashing, 15^50, Zealous, Enchanting
- Slashing, 15^50, Vampiric, Enchanting
- Slashing, 15^50, Shocking, Enchanting
- Slashing, 15^50, [anything], Fortitude

The Zealous are general usage, and for high-energy spikes.

The Vampiric are fun if you've got some kind of IAS and/or Locust's Fury going on. They're also useful if you're just auto-attacking for a while.

The Shocking are useful when you're fighting warriors or other opponents who have an increased resistance to physical damage.

The Fortitude daggers are for when you've got DP action going on.

I prefer slashing because the only thing you really have to worry about if you're using it is Bladeturn Refrain, while there are enemies that are naturally resistant to piercing damage. 15^50 is for obvious reasons, and I like having "of Enchanting" daggers because... well, I just feel like it's useful to have the enchantments that I cast on myself last as long as possible.
