The Past, Present, and Future of Guild Wars Competitive Play

Wow, this is incredible, this is a total revamp of the current tournament system, this going to mean so much to guilds. I expect it's going to be MUCH harder to finish in the top 100, as there are going to be many guilds that faced with only a few dates to gvg to go high, will be very competitive. And likely only the serious ones will submit rosters, if that's how it's organized.
I can't wait to see how all of this ends up in practice, but I'm looking forward to a breath of fresh air into the gvg system. Also, I expect the 1v1 ranking system to add significantly more interest into that area.

Need more Info but initially this is bad.
I'm sorry but getting rid of the current Ladder system is just not good. Anet si taking a Wc3 tournament approch and I don't like it.
At least WC3 keep all the ladder system up and running, here Anet is dropping the current system.
I'm sorry but how long is a tourney going to last? I dont have 3-4 hours during the week to play nonestop!!
If Anet is going to copy a system like Bnet WC3 touney system, pls do a proper copy/paste or improve it, getting rid of the current ladder system and not explaining in depth how the new one is going to work = me worried.
In my guild we have several players that can't GvG for hours and hours and hours, we GvG 1-2 hours max a day and then stop, so if we playing this tourney and have to stop suddently and can't continue will the guild be penalize???
We will see, I need more explanation before getting happy about this change.

I have a real life. I cannot be on when Anet determines their times for the tournaments. I do not make my schedule around GW and now I have to if I want to play competatively.
If they wanted to get rid of the smurf or tank guilds remove the guest options. There was a time we did not have the guest option and the game was better for it.
The ladder needs to stay. The best thing Anet could have done is break the ladder down into divisions and the top 5 (for example) from each division goes to the playoffs.
I need some more explanation about the system but from the sound of it this will be a deal breaker for me and GW. I play guild wars solely for GvG. Now with this change I dought I will be playing anymore.

QQ more everyone?
The ladder as it is currently is just a place for guilds to farm rating for Champ Points and Silver Capes. This new system will mean that guilds who actually CARE about GvG will have a chance to play Tournaments. If you only play a few hours a week, or can't be on, then it's your problem, but everyone else will be able to compete fine. This will have more positives than negatives.

I could play 2-3 games per day and be very competitive.
Now I don't think that is going to be an option with the new system. I have a real life and work. I'm sure I am not alone on this. If I have to dedicate 6-7 hours a day to GW to remain competitive then I will be forced to stop playing and will not buy anymore chapters.
Its hard enough to find players that play on the same schedule. Now we have to adjust our play times to the schedule that Anet sets. Having to be a member of a guild for 30 days is insane. That reason alone will put most people off of even trying to participate.
How about remove the guest option from the game and if you leave a guild you cannot join another one for at least a week or something similar.

Taking guests out would be quite terrible. I've probably done as many GvGs with guests then without this season. Killing guesting just to get rid of smurfing will kill alot of honest good fun.
That having said, I do share your concerns. The fixed times and a 30day wait period sound really, really bad. Imagine getting starting a new guild. First you have to wait 30 days to actually be able to compete, and if your core is small you might find yourself without a line-up soon after...
Wait and see, who knows it might turn out to be a blessing.
