i was just wondering. if u have ur hero's with you, is it really necessary for you
to constaltly use all of their skills, or they actually use it pretty well bythemselves.
i always thought that with ppl with hero's had a hard time cause they would always be switching from char to char.
and lastly what would be a helpfull build for a monk hero?
thanks for all the help.
question on hero's

I really never micro manage my heroes for normal questing or missions. I just let them do their thing. Ocassionally you may have to force one to use a skill but not often.

Depends on you. If you set their builds with straight forward skills you'll never need to look at them at all. If you set them up with highly conditional skills or that need specific targeting then you'll be micro-managing them whenever something comes up.
As for builds, check the campfire section, either the monks section or the heroes and AI section

I was under the impression that the skills on the far left were used more than the ones on the right, so I kind of manage them. As far as micro-managing them in a skirmish, I find it hinders their abilities rather than helps at times.
Your heroes are usually good enough to take into any area with very general builds and still succeed.

Most of the times hero AI is pretty good. When it comes to situational skills they fail. They will also cast through backfire/shame, and will use Heal Party with only one person hurt (then again, so will most real monks sigh). I also heard Zhed makes a terrible warder, but I haven't tested that.

Depends.
If you're expecting some uber tactical dedicated warder, then yes, he sucks.
But put some points into earth, and slap ward against melee on him, and he'll be just fine. If the ward stops just a few attacks, that was a spell well spent.
