As stated before by Fusic, Race 2 (Droknar's Forge to Ironmines to Moladune) proved to be near impossible for our contestants to complete. Especially the Icedome was a complete nightmare, and some Stone Summit even ganged up on the refs. It was thus decided to skip to race 3, Camp Rankor to Beacon's Perch.

This reverse Droknar run is notorious for it's difficulty. Especially the Wurms, which now chase runners much longer, are known to have eaten plenty of wannabe-runners. Maw the Mountainheart fortunately did not make a surprise visit, although one of our refs in particular was hoping he would show up. With the run in reverse, the hardest part of the race was now all the way at the end.

Throughout the race there wasn't a single runner who could hold pole position for long. The runners constantly fought for that precious first place, and not until Lornar's pass did they meet their match.

The track of race 3 had a couple of significant obstacles that would surely pose some serious danger to our runners. Right at the start of the race large packs of griffons tried to slow down our runners. Yet they swiftly found themselves outmatched by the running skills of our contestants. Large groups of Stone Summit Beast Masters tried to knock the runners down, while Ice Golems furiously tried to slow the runners down with their cold attacks.

Almost halfway into the race the brave runners faced their first big obstacle, the troll cave. Large groups of trolls lunged forward in an attempt to bodyblock the runners, and in a few cases they were some what succesful. Most of the runners managed to shadowstep past them however, and quickly made their way to the end of Snake Dance. Two last obstacles awaited them just before the end. A huge mob of trolls and Azure Shadows (Which popped up from the ground unexpectedly). With these obstacles safely behind them the runners moved to the halfway point of the race, Dreadnought's Drift.

Dreadnought's Drift is a relatively small area in the race, but it's packed with large groups of Tundra Giants, who's devastating rock-throwing attacks can easily swipe a runner off his feet. Fortunately some of our runners had brought Balanced Stance, and were thus able to pass through this area without eating some snow. With some clever shadowstepping the runners managed to dodge the huge amounts of Stone Summit, and entered the hardest part of the race. Lornar's Pass!

Lornar's Pass confronted the runners with yet another troll cave but this time around several Wurms decided to give chase. Even into the cave. The very last part of Lornar's Pass was also the hardest. The runners faced large groups of Ice Golems, Avicara, Ice Imps and of course... MORE WURMS!

This part almost proved too difficult for the runners. After 3 failed attempts the group decided to work together, and save the competative aspect of the race till after the Wurms. Thus the team made a combined effort, but it was Gale Valen who finally made it to the gate of Beacon's Perch.

This sunday at 8 PM CET, Gale Valen shall be crowned "Champion of Running" at the top of Beacon's Perch international 1. Everyone is invited to attend this ceremony. With this grand victory Gale Valen earns the total prize money of 50k.

The Mad Queen and her team of loyal elves would like to thank all runners for participating, and for their great display of sportmanship. Hurray to the glorious losers, and thank you all for watching.

It looks great and stuff, but surely Lornar's Pass is the only part of it that's actually a race? The runners could have co-operated in the other two areas.

Congrats to the winner.

Glad everyone enjoyed it so much. We try to do these kind of events with every holiday in GW. This time around we didn't have much time to put it all together, so the announcement was a little bit short notice.

Anyway, hopefully we'll be able to gather even more people next time. Different tracks though. And no more Icedome, haha.
