Hi guys,
I had a problem with very low FPS most of the time. I contacted PlayNC support, but didn't get anything usefull since my OS is x64 Windows XP (not officialy supported). So I've started digging and experimenting with various settings, and I think I found solution, or workaround...

So if you have low FPS in game (specially when starting fight, etc.) try running game with -nosound switch. If that helps- you should be able to play normally (FPS will depend on your graphic card and other computer stats- for me it's 40-60). OK, now that you know that your problem is sound- go to "Sound and Audio Devices Properties", Click advanced button in 'Speaker settings' part. In "Advanced Audio Properties" switch to 'Performance' tab and

change "Sample rate conversion quality" from Best to Good.

That's it... Remember to delete -nosound switch and enjoy (:

P.S. I tested this only on my computer, so if it's not working for you- i'm sorry (: But this change alone improved my Frame Rate from 1-20 to 30-60, so it's worth trying...

P.P.S. My sound card is integrated Realtek AC97 chip, so it is possible that this issue is related to their 64bit drivers for Windows XP x64...
My comp is:
Athlon 64 3000+
4GB DDR400
1 TB 4xHDD raid 1
Radeon X1300 graphic card
NForce4 chipset
RealteK AC97 sound

Windows XP x64 (Catlist 6.12, NForce 6.86, Realtek A396 drivers)

[EDIT]
Oh, one more thing- this FPS issue isn't related to game setting, it'll be the same on any settings you chose. I'm playing with all Highest Settings, max resolution

Yeah, i guess you'll lose something, but I can't hear the difference on headphones (: I'm not an expert on Windows' audio, but 'Sample rate conversion quality' shouldn't change anything average user can see/hear/feel...

After the 12-15-2006 update GW for me has been unplayable without the -nosound switch. I don't run 64 Bit but this is the first possible solution I have heard about so I'm going to give it a try.
