OMG Does anyone still play fairly?
HOMIE_G64
With running only possible in Tyria, I'm wondering DOES ANYONE STILL TRY TO BEAT DRAGON's LAIR? I have gotten EXTREMELY CLOSE before, and once, I even beated the mission but logged out during the bonus, so I didn't get teleported to Droks. I know I was stupid, but even more stupid is the fact that NO ONE except for around 4 people actually attempt to beat this level.
Hand of Ruin
yea... even before heroes, I could easily hench that mission. If you can't beat it, that's really your problem.
In fact, that mission is so easy, most people probably hench it like I have, instead of wasting time with pugs who are so bad they will struggle with such an easy mission... I'm not trying to flame you, but that's the truth really. I know I sure as hell would never pug that mission, because its so easy to do alone...

Lol, I got DL the other day to finish my protector title.
Also, "beated" isn't a word.

No................(woot 9 characters)
Oren The Destroyer
no, we all use the cheat code: asdugslrjhas to get us through that mission.
HOMIE_G64
Yeah, I was kinda rushed when typing that. I was typing on my Wii . BTW, you're right Hand of Ruin. I henched that mission so fast I had time to spare for some Wintersday Celebration. Merry Christmas!

point of this topic? O.o

His post asks a valid question. What is the point of the thread?
Are you complaining that there are very few people in Dragon's Lair now?
Or are there people, but they are all using heroes/hencies and not playing with otheres? Are they all bypasssing by getting run to droks and skipping over the desert completely? Or are you just giving us a quirky antecdote on how you weren't able to beat the mission?
Relating to the title of the thread, you said playing "fairly". What are people doing that they aren't playing fairly? Not beating Glint? You don't have to in order to complete the mission.
Your post really just seems to be a bit of rambling without any question involved to inspire further discussion from others.

I thought it was obvious but, I'm asking a question: Does ANYONE PLAY THE GAME WITHOUT RUNNING?
Wretchman Drake
Well to asnwer the question "OMG DOes anyone still play fairly?"
The majority of experienced players don't, it's boring to go thru the same long process of leveling and experiencing something new with EACH character. That's why you don't see these kind of things in MMO's where you focus on one character consistantly throughout the game and reaching the maximum level seems like an eternity where as in Guild Wars, well... I just don't have the patience to do the same crap over again when I know what's gonna happen. I wanna level fast now to PvP with PvE characters sometimes... The game engine is becoming outdated and plain, I mean besides the campaign storyline change and a few extra features such as the skill/profession window and the heroes, what did Anet do to improve/revamp the gameplay? Nothing, which is why after one or two more campaigns the game is going to die out. It's like playing the same game even in different campaigns, a typical noob isle to level, or questing to kill REPETATIVE mobs OVER and OVER and OVER again... It's not fun.
Nightfall failed to deliver a new aspect of PvP, the Hero Battles are awful most were hoping for just regular deathmatches like RA/TA, not a mini AB... Factions did great with the PvP bringing in a whole new perspective on PvP with Alliance Battles and Fort Aspenwood, the Battle Isles, etc. Nightfall did nothing...
The next chapter better improve and greatly change the PvE style and PvP or else this franchise is going down the drain after a year or two.

Stupid Shizno
should stop making expansions for atleast a year, every 6 months is too rushed

after thinking about what you said, Wretchman Drake, i have to agree with you on the most part. you made a vey valid point about the repeditiveness. i only have 4 characters cuz i don't want to go through the whole campain over and over again.
the problem is (in my opinion), arena net doesn't have the same reasources like blizzard does beacuse GW requires no monthly fees. with 7 million people playing WoW, all paying about $15...PER MONTH...well, that's more money than any of us will make in 100 life times. lol
the hero system was enough for me to stay with GW, but i do agree, that they will have to change some of the style soon or else it will seem like it's just ANOTHER GW game with just ANOTHER feature, but with it, just ANOTHER reduanant campain.

I helped guildies with dragons lair several times over the past few days...twice on my monk and once on my warrior, got mission and bonus...wasn't hard at all...then again, i went with a guild group.

I think there are two reasons for the lack of people playing this mission:
- Nightfall
- Wintersday
Droknar's run is only for the people that know about it and willing to spent some gold on it.
I've helped numerous groups (with bonus) a couple of weeks ago and it was never hard to assemble a full group or at least 6 + 2 hench/heroes.
Only after 23:00 (Central European Time) it was harder to assemble a group, but switching district made a team in about 10 minutes.
If you want to PuG, remember it will take a little longer till you have a group.
Or wait till the Wintersday event is finished, grouping should be easier then.
