Green items - profession specific?

Do green items only drop if the boss you get them from is the same profession as your primary?

I ask because I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere and yet the only green items I have picked up so far have been 2 Ryver's Shortbows and one Chiggen's Shortbow - both obtained on my ranger.

no, any profession can pick up any green from any boss. u must have just been fighting a lot of ranger bosses.

yea, ive gotten daggers on my ranger before, and a mesmer shing jea green on my assassin, so the drop rate isnt affected by which profession you play.
