Recognition of Cirtical Hit

I would like to know when I have a critical hit or when one is scored on me. I propose Anet change the color of the numbers when one is scored. maybe have them be more orange then yellow should be fine. That way we can see how often a critical is landed rather than guessing.

possibly a differant color when sundering as well..and a differant color all together if you hit with both at the same time O.o

You really don't need to see sundering as that is just normal attacks. I think criticals should be differentiated in some way.

Yup, yup. It's something that would help.
I believe when I played Everquest 2, and they added criticals they differentiated the damage shown somehow. I think the number was bigger or a slightly different colour.

If it wouldn't be too much trouble, I'd like to see this in too.

There are skills to reduce the amount of critical hits an enemy can get. I'd use that skill more if I could recognize when someone is using a skill to increase their critical hits against me.
Right now it's very hard to tell how many criticals are landing on me, if any.

That's why she is angry.
When the neighbor used to ask my mother how I was when I was a baby, my mother would bow her head down and say 'still ugly...'.

This would only help on non-assassin professions. Needless to say that is 9/10 professions. Maybe not since staves/wands don't critical.

/signed.

However for the sake of colorblind, they ought to just make it an option for it to show as -damage (Crit)

for example if 100 damage, -100 (crit)

Even if you think it is useless doesnt mean it is useless for everyone. Obviously not if someone is asking for it to be implemented and it is such a simple suggestion. Would really help when using skills that negate critical hits.

I was under the impression that when you hit for 100 instead of 20 it was a critical. If I am wrong, which I probably am /signed

I'm agreeing with the OP. But it still pisses me off that people can say /notsigned without any counterpoints. As far as I see it, critical hits should have been displayed a long time ago, as insignificant as they already are, they should be visible for those skills like Dulled Weapon or whatever, because I doubt it's been used more than 10 times.

A variation in the damage 'aura' is hardly recognition. I'd prefer changing critical hits to another number, maybe red.

Hardly recognition? Well, I don't know about you guys, but a critical hit absolutely GLARES out at me, pretty easy to recognize...

And (unconfirmed) a guildie told me there's a different sound as well...

But I don't see any reason not to add another indicator.

couple posts up shows the effects, you all never seen that all this time? you kidding me?

red dmg = your dmg btw.

if anything they could add a gold rim around the yellow dmg text, or something to shine more. but thats it. its not important to know if u do a critical or not. if you HIT them or if they block/evade is what is IMPORTANT.

Off-topic. Look at this guy's avatar to show the beauty of something similar to the critical hit effect :P Not complaining about that are you? ^^

But yeah, QFT. Criticals really aren't that important to know...it's not like there are any skills that say "if your last hit was a critical hit..." The only skills with critical hit conditionals perform the action on the critical anyway (i.e. Critical Chop).

Coz monks, eles, necros, mesmers, and ritualists always examine the animations that melee characters make.

Why not. As long as it's a toggle, because I'm not particularly interested in it, but not opposed since some people would benefit from it. It doesn't seem like something that would be high on ANet's priority list, though, so don't hold your breaths

i actually do notice the critical effect whoosh, big broken circle flying out of my chest when im on a caster, its hard to miss, especially when your running from a melee - getting hit, which makes him do criticals much more often.
