Why would you get interest for putting gold in storage? The storage lady doesn't take your money and use it in other ways; it sits there. Storage =/= Bank by any means.
Where would the interest go? 5%/month = 50k... is it just going to magically appear on one of my already full chars? I think not. This would fall under the same problems as merging accounts (Gaile gave a storage issue in some thread somewhere).

As much as I have thought about this it's still not going to happen. I thought something like this *might* work in the ideal world: the system is automatically capped at a certain value so that you won't go over the 1mil mark should it come to that. It worked inversely: the less you have the more interest you make and the more you have the less you make after certain predetermined values, until it stopped completely at the gold cap. That's just some thoughts I was throwing around but then again we can only dream, eh?
