I was just thinking, as the game stands now, on one hand you have PvE characters which can access not only the pve areas but also the pvp areas of the game. On the other hand you have PvP characters that can access only the pvp areas. In one way you could say that the PvP characters are balanced out with all the extra options they get.
But I was just thinking that perhaps it would be nice if there were some areas in the game, perhaps even a series of missions, that were restricted to pvp only characters. The idea is that this would be a place for PvP only characters to go, not only to experience PvP in something more than a series of unrelated battles (perhaps there could be a mini campaign you go through and your next mission you visit is determined by how well you did on the current one and you only have access to the current mission you are given). Instead of gold and items dropping from kills in pve, perhaps some maps would off extra balth faction for a kill or extra skins for weapons/items. Perhaps there could be a new zaishan hero that you can only get if you win every battle in the campaign. Another thing could be if you get nothing but wins, you'd be teleported to an area with special crafters who have unique weapons/offhands (not sure how armor would work) who'd unlock the skins if you have enough balth faction.
EDIT: In order to flesh it out, I'm not asking that it be like the HoH, but also have a storyline and not just a series of unrelated battles. Another thought is that there could be two factions in this series of battles or maybe for some of the battles, the normal avatars people have would be replaced by a monster NPC type for just that battle. For example, in the defense of ascalon pvp battle, one team would look like charr, but in the shiverpeaks battle, one team would consist of dwarves or avicora.

Is there any reason not to let PvE characters access?
Winterclaw
Part of *my* reasoning was to have a place where pvp characters could go to get new armor and weapon skins and that sort of thing. Now if people think that this would be a good idea for all char types, I could see that too.

why not just play pve?? i dont get it...
Winterclaw
In PvE all the story missions are vs monsters. For the PvP missions I was suggesting, they'd be against other players and you wouldn't be able to pick or choose so easily because win or lose, the only mission you can play would be decided by how well you did on the last one and what series you took to get there.

I don't get it. pve chars are for the whole game, pvp chars are for persons who don't wanna deal with leveling and equipping a new char, and just pvp. if you want missions, just go to pve?
Also, skins = pve, stats = pvp. if you want cooler skins, just go pvp with a pve?

A campaign for PvP players? You can think of Hero's Ascent as one, buddy.
And yes, this idea is REAL stupid...

PvP characters aren't being penalized by not being able to enter PvE areas.
GW is about PvE, with PvP end-game. However, to completely eliminate any possibility of grind affecting competitive gameplay, PvP characters were introduced.
They are not a special class, they are not penalized, they don't get anything extra.
Those that choose not to even set a foot into PvE made their choice. But it doesn't mean it doesn't exist, or that it's a bonus or a perk. PvP characters exist for one single purpose: Convenience.

I do like it. If anything, give more roaming area to PvPers, as well as quests that could help pratice with better PvP skills.
I also do want a chapter (or mini chapter) with more PvP emphises (but not fully PvP). Would still be lots PvE, but the story would take place in the theme of a gladiatorial arena (like movie of "Gladiator", or "Blood Sport"!) The oppoent you face would still be AI NPC or mobs, but could possiblie be a better jump board for PvEer's to PvP, and visa versa.
Anyhow.. back to OP.... yes for more space for PvP characters.

why? (12 character limit)

Why indeed...
My guess is that it "might" give PvPer's more stuff to do, which is a break from just the same repeating PvP games, might encourage some PvEer's into PvPing, which is to be consider are one of the end game content, and if its done well, would meet the bottom line of game. And what might the bottom line be? Fun.
