is color to ur liking?

Say Eggy, when you reopen commissions for full CG art how much do you think you will charge for it?
Unlucky Slayer
That is a very good question. I may have to start saving up my cash for one.
egnki
let see i think invertation already payed me like 100k
so prob somewhere around there.
so prob somewhere around there.

Looks like Kanaxai's gonna be my prison b**** for a while.

*peeks in* Just a thought, egnki, if you don't mind input. The hue you are going with for her skin is a little on the ashy side. I'd recommend trying something a little more saturated, maybe a more ruddy red-ish (depending on the skin tone/lighting/etc), to keep the skin vibrant.

I love the detailing on the hair! O:
Unlucky Slayer
around 100k... Never be able to afford it now.

here is update for my current work
Roguish Seraph
the skin is wonderful ^^ I love coloring so much and look like you do to.
Although one thing that you might want to touch up on(if you're not done, of course) might want to pick a dark color for the lips..the pink kind of gets lost with the skin tones. Other than that its looking great.
btw the hair looks gorgeous!

I lack words of description, and it still is not finnished. Keep up the exelent work.
Jeff Highwind
Good lord that is some insane detail.
Foxeye
Argh, I just reread my older post and realized I completely left out the word "shadows". Sorta dorky/clueless sounding without that, as the skin tone in general was just fine, it was only the darks I was referring to. Gah. Well, no harm done, you've found the right colors just fine without needing any comment. :P Looking awesome.
egnki
yeah well...
i dunno how many times i erased the whole skin color and did it again.
prob like 6 times.
finally i got to skin color i like but it was too light.
fooled around with level a bit and thats what i got.
after that i just softened up the skin.
still WIP but hey its gettign along fine so far

Okay, I'm going to invade this thread for a moment. I trust most of the people here as accomplished artists, and so I am going to post this here, since this thread seems to be getting a lot of attention. I have been a decent drawer for a few years now, and my best friend is intent on becoming an artist herself (she's much better than I am ). She draws in an anime-influenced style, but my art is more realism-inspired. She has tried to help me with my horrible faces for quite some time, but the styles just don't mesh properly. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to get faces right, other than just practicing and do the facial division thing, because neither one of those has seemed to help. I seem to get either overpowering eyes, or an odd spacing between the features... Also, if anyone would like to attempt to explain proportions to me, that would be a great help as well, specifically when it comes to the hand/foot areas. They look like they're supposed to, but they are typically too small and look really strange on the character in question.
I thank you for taking the time to read this, not getting angry for thread-invading and helping all in advance! I know that if you intend on helping, it's hard without an image, but, that's pretty much out of the question at the current time. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Love the new stuff eggy!

Unfortunately I don't have any tips...I rely on practice and facial divisions myself and don't know any other way. :/ BUT I can say that if you haven't already, try to find a copy of Jack Hamm's art books in the library or in a book store if you have a little disposable income. He packs an amazing amount of information in, both the basic proportion stuff and the "tips and tricks" aspect of it. (And his books are cheaper than most how-to drawing books.) I've reread his stuff so many times and I learn something new with each passing.
My other "bible" for faces is "The Artist's Complete Guide to Facial Expression" by Gary Faigin. Can't praise that book enough.

I can't say I'm the god of faces, but what I do basically is: Take a look at pictures ^^
For proportions I use myself as reference (usually enlarging the legs a tad bit to make the character more beautiful).
If I place my hand on my face I can feel that it covers about 4/5th of my face if not more. So if you draw a hand on the same distance of the viewer as the face, it should be nearly as large as that face.
I'm really bad at feet... can't help you there.
For hands, just look at your own, or ask someone to hold his/her hand as you want to draw it. Print the image in your head, and draw!
Awesome work eggy, though the skin is a bit too glossy for my liking.

<33 hmmm i dunno how to describe it but i used to draw circle and a cross in front of it to base off the head. than start to fill it in
the circle was not really the head but the top portion of the head
while middle was like the eyebrow and eye underneath
than i draw bit of curve underneath like triangle to get the basic shape of the head.
after a while i dun have to do that just draw all that. a circle and im able to draw head.
as for proportion that cross on circle was like to show which direction and how the head eyebrow and middle is decided.
but right now i just draw basic shape and just fill it in as i imagine and it seems to work for me for now.
but i still has some prob.
that picture im working on
her left eye was erased and redone couple of times and it still looks a bit crooked.
