Make chars and inventory easier to manage

Assuming that Anet want people to buy more characters for playing and for use as mules, I think they should make the characters more easily manageable - so players can effectively handle many more characters (think $$$).

1) Allow all your characters to be listed while in game (who they are, what they are, level, where they are), and allow you to quickly switch to characters without having to logout, re-enter username/password, login again, select character etc.

2) Make character inventory space more manageable:

Inventory space spread across multiple characters should be more easily manageable. It's annoying to log in and out just to find out some character or hero just doesn't have that item you thought they had (imagine if you have lots of PvE chars and one of their heroes has that nice green zealous scythe equipped, but you can't remember which char and hero). I don't have that many chars (just the default) and I already find it hard to remember all that.

I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather play GW the game, not GW the Storage Puzzle Game (a combination of Memory and Klotski) .

You should be able to list all the items owned by the characters you are playing - that includes items, runes, insignias equipped (weapon or armor) by the characters and the heroes associated with those characters.

Proposed columns (can click to toggle hide, sort asc, desc)

Char, Location, Type, Rarity, Description, Details, Qty, Value

Stackable items should be grouped together to the max of 250, each max stack has separate entry.

If the Details Column is hidden, you should be able to get details by clicking on the listing or hovering (and getting "tip/hint").

You should be able to sort items by type (sword, material etc), or rarity white, blue, purple, gold, green. If possible also allow sort by time placed in inventory of that character (add a datetime column).

Create a Xunlai Storage Upgrade that allows you to transfer items to/from other PvE char inventories and heroes from/to the Xunlai storage (while in towns), without having to switch characters.

Anet could cynically restrict this storage upgrade to the next GW expansion, till there is a massive outcry .

Or, you could delete or sell your items.

All you'll ever need to play GW to the fullest is one inventory per character. That one contains far more items that you could ever use.

If you use more, you're a packrat.

There's a reason storage expansion isn't getting added. It has no effect on gameplay.

It's been mentioned before that the reason you need to log out and back in when switching characters is related to security. I know, it's a pain in the butt and I agree that it would be more convenient with your suggestion.

Not the perfect answer, but I have created mules for specific storage and know who has what.

The idea is good, but I don't know how much work would be involved to implement it, and if there is enough demand to even think about it.

Wow! What a brilliant suggestion! If I delete/sell my green scythe I no longer have the problem of remembering which character and hero it was that was using it.

Why didn't I think of that before! You're a genius!

Even better if I delete all my characters except one, I don't even need to remember which character's heroes are holding which item. Heck if I delete ALL my characters, I don't even need to remember anything about GW! That'll make my life much simpler and perhaps I'd be more useful to other people...

But I wish to play GW just for a little while more (I'm not addicted I tell you ). So I just want to log in, think "lets try a/d today", go fetch the scythe from wherever it is. Instead of logging into different accounts kicking heroes, adding melonni, adding zenmai, going nope not here, logout, repeat with another account and so on.

Next day, ok lets play monk, now where did i put that protective staff of enchanting - which tahlkora or dunkoro has it?

Previously without heroes, you know that your ele is unlikely to be holding a vampiric melee weapon. But now, it could be with one of the heroes in ANY of your characters.

I guess I'm getting old and my memory isn't as good as it was. But then again, maybe I've even forgotten that my memory was really terrible in the past .
