Getting to Eternal Grove without faction grind?
rotoiti
Is there a way to get into Eternal Grove mission without gaining 10k Kurzick faction? My char needs this mission for the Protector title. I don't want to lose (read: redeem) 10k Luxon faction I accumulated on the account. Moreover I don't want to redo all the Kurzick quests again to get to 10k Kurzick.
Oh, I already got masters on the other 12 missions (finished the game).
Perhaps if I joined someone completing "Defenders of the Forest", I'd be let in?
Any thoughts?

Well its probaly to late now, but what i did was use all my chars (rush them through luxon side) and then go to kurzick after all of them got in the luxon side so I could do both

Nope. You need to ge the faction. Why would Eternal Grove be any different than the rest of the Factions campain?

I am wondering because you can get into some locked locations (namely Vizunah Square local with a foreign char) when a person is finishing a quest leading there.

You need to get the faction, but you only need unspent faction: you don't have to redeem any faction to continue with the quest. You'll just end up with 10k luxon and 10k kurzick faction.

But I would suggest you complete one track, redeem the faction, then do the other. Because when you redeem Luxon, you lose Kurzick and visa versa.

I am sure you probably know this already but if you got other characters get them all to the point they can "befriend" Luxons before you do the kurz quests and stuff to befriend them and then you only have to get a total of 10k factions each for kurz and lux to get all characters thru the game

If you joined someone doing Defenders of the Forest you wouldn't get in. I've tried and Tested this with people who wanted in and they just got left outside in the Drazach Thicket in the cold.
As far as I'm aware you HAVE to get the 10k Kurzick Faction to get the Quest from Zu Heltzer. It is annoying but it's one of the primary reason as to why people don't like Factions.

if you've finished the game, I think it's possible for you can go from the Harvest Temple, through Unwaking Waters to the Kurzick side and then through Morostav Trail and into Eternal Grove. At least, that's sorta how I did it with my tank. I had done the Kurzick side and went from Harvest Temple to Gyala and was able to get in and do the mission without having to do the Stolen Eggs quest. I say 'think' because I did (still do have actually) have 10k faction for both sides. I'm not sure how it'd effect things without the faction, but it's something to try if you don't want to get all the faction.

Honestly, the easiest way is simply to play Fort Aspenwood or Alliance Battles for an hour and a half. You'll have 10,000 unspent faction by then, and you're good to go...it's much, much quicker than doing side quests.

That's an interesting idea. I think it might work. One gotcha that I am aware of is that you have to have more Kurzick faction than Luxon to get past the guard to Unwaking Waters (Kurzick).
Anyway, I am going to spend my 10k Luxon faction and try to go this way. I will report on my progress.

The reason you can't hitch a ride is to prevent running through the game. The dev team wants you to actually play the game they worked so hard on.

Anyway, I am going to spend my 10k Luxon faction and try to go this way. I will report on my progress. This wont work, ive tried it trying to go back the Harvest Temple (i came form Kurisck side) and i tired to get into the Luxon side (whihc my guild is aligned to and i had 10k faction for) and yet i still couldnt get let in. So you have to do the Befreinding the Luxonx/Kursicks Quests, there is no away around it, but it doesnt take very long at all.

I do not see how you can play PVP part as leeching is TERRIBLE! It was 3 ppl playing and 4 standing... crazy. I am going to do quests, there is no way around it. ANET, please do something about it!

I cant believe people can actually be so annoyed by this. There are two very easy ways to do this, and neither will hurt your Luxon faction! First, you can simply go to AB, and, like Jetloc said, do that for an hour and a half and you've got enough faction, or if you maybe wanna get some gold drops or something, do the quests! Earlier today today i got all 10k faction in about 4.5-5 hours, just by doing the quests! It's as simple as that...

Once you have the 10k, don't spend it. Make sure you can get several chars thru at the same time. Saves you the hassle later. It's not 10k per char but 10k per account.
