Premade-PvP

Hi. As ive said in another thread, i just bought nightfall. Ive never played any other GW games so i dont quiet understand the Pre-Made pvp characters.
I made an RP character (warrior) and then i made a PvP only Elementalist. Do i need to make a RP elemntalist to make the PvP one better, or do i get better skills and stuff as i PvP on the elementalis? Now, im aware the level cap is 20. But, as i PvP in random arenas im still gaining Exp. Why is that, and if i do grow another level, what happens? Also, how do i unlock new skills? Ive seen the awards guy already and he only offered heros, and i dont hero pvp very much so far. Thanks in advance for your answeres.

a pvp only character can be pretty much self sufficient. you earn faction from battles (shown in yellow letters and numbers when u kill people in pvp). you can trade in this balthazar faction in to a priest of blathazar to get skills and unlock weapon mods. your warrior cannot do this, but he can buy or get skills from a quest. now when you are level 20, you still gain xp, but you will never surpass lvl 20. when you "level up" again, you wont get any more levels, but you get a skill point, used for buying skills in the role playing areas of the game.

The hero tab is just the first one showing, there are 3 in total.

That said, I think they did wipe out the premade characters when they switched to the template style PvP characters. Perhaps they should add some premades back in for new PvP players to use before they have unlocked their preferred skills.

An RP Ele will allow you to unlock skills usable for the PvP character, but so will playing more PvP. In PvE you gain skill points for leveling (and subsequently gaining exp after reaching lvl20.) These can be spent on skills at skill trainers and on Signets of Capture at specific skill trainers.

On a PvP character, the XP gain from fighting is worthless as you cannot spend skill points on skills at the Priest Of Balthazar. I currently have a PvP monk with 3 skill points that are worthless to me (other than laughs and bragging rights that is.)

There should be a tab at the top of the window when you talk to the Priest of Balthazar. The left tab is "Unlock Heroes" followed by "Unlock Items" and "Unlock Skills." Select the one that is related to the item you wish to unlock and chose to purchase the item with your Balthazar Faction.

On the note of templates being gone: when you first roll a PvP character, the skillset is that of the premade buld that has been chosen for that profession.
