I'm running an Athlon 64 3000+ with 1GB of DDR400 along with a Radeon 9800 Pro.
What kind of cpu usage should I expect from Guild Wars: Nightfall? I played prophecies quite a bit about 6 months ago and never really checked to see how much was being used, but now when I run GW, gw.exe takes up more than 90% of my CPU most of the time, as well as using a large amount of RAM (which should be expected). I realize that I am not too far over the "Recommended Specs", but I still don't think that this game would take up so much processing power.
The game runs fine with little or no lag (mostly when loading new zones etc). It is a fresh install of both GW and Nightfall, so it's probably still loading things in the background, but I just wanted to see if I should be worried about this (overloading cpu?) or something.
Thanks.

Seems totally normal, I'm running a 1.86GHz Core 2 with GW pulling 48 percent of the processing or about 96 percent of a single 1.86GHz processor.
Other Specs:
1x EvGA 7900GT KO
1GB Kingston DDR2800
GW Settings:
Res: 1440x900
Refresh: 75hz
4x AA
Max Quality

Ok good.
My video settings are lower.. but then again 7900gt puts the 9800 pro to shame anyday.
Thanks for the tip.

Gw also uses maximum CPU it can get.
My HT processor will allow 50% though.
