are the log in servers really down?

I purchased guild wars, game of the year edition, yesterday, and I installed today, and I went to create a new account. I entered in my access key # an then when I clicked the create account button, I got a message saying that guild wars could not connect to the log in server. Am I doing something wrong, or are the servers really down? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

most likely your firewall is blocking gw.exe. ;|

thought that was it, its not. any other suggestions, or is anybody else experiencing/ed this problem?

well today servers have had dome problems dunno what helps...

There have been a lot of connection and zoning errs today. So, it's probably not you.

Due to the recent Tsunami A-Net and NC-Soft have had to do some rerouting of the traffic to their servers. This may be a temparary problem, so we need to bear with it. I on occasion see the Log In server down too and I am on DSL so I know that it is not on my end. Usualy restarting Guild Wars resets things back to happy.
