Farming
Warmaster Lordan
Well i've heard many things about farmings like you farm to sell the items in real life, then farming to get items and sell them for the game money. Which is the right diffenition
scyfer
Any repetitive activity done to amass wealth or experience.
Antheus
Farming is collecting things.
Items, money, experience, skill points, faction points, titles, etc.
Farming generally applies when these are acumulated by using a simplified or repetitive task. Money can be obtained by simply playing. But when it's done in a single zone over and over, it's farming.
Farming always tries to maximize effort vs. profit, and is in certain cases prone to using exploits or techniques not allowed by EULA or ToS.

Farming isn't against the EULA. Bots ARE. If I want to spend my time running and killing the same groups for the drops it is my right. I paid for the darn game didn't I? I love this game, but probably the most fun I have had was when you could effectively farm the griffons. It was a rush. It was profitable. I found good stuff. It hurt no one. I doubt farming was considered much when ANet made the game, but with their attempts to make it harder all the time they alienate many players. I'm not a hardcore farmer. I don't have my inventory maxed out on gold and I don't have FoW armor. I just enjoy farming sometimes as a way to play the game.

Selling items/gold for real life money is against the rules and will get you banned if you get caught.
Farming for stuff you want or want to sell for in-game gold is fine.

Your not meant to farm! Your meant to do PvP over and over... hmmm maybe they should stop PvP as well

Well I think the only possible thing you can farm easily right now is termite legs on the newbies island.
EatMoreCarbs
Not sure but, im pretty sure FARMING is the collecting of the items, and EBAYING is selling them in real life. Like on eBay.
