ok so since zealot's fire has been nerfed to death, what skills effect it?
shouts and stances dont...so does that mean only spells cast on the enchanted trigger it?

Go with Glyph of Renewal+Divine Spirit and cheap fast protection skills with low recharge.

yeah was running a smite with stuff like mend ailments, RoF, healing touch, OoH, and stuff by my energy sank before i could kill 1 guy.

Don't use it as your only damage skill and expect to kill things. It's great at supplementing your damage, but it can't do much alone.
