I don't get skins, i have to say in the year i have been playing GW I never understood skins.. I have some questions..

How do you get these "rare" skins??
Do they drop on weapons??
I have seen some rare crystaline skin and the sword was clean and required NO swordsmanship, why is that expensive??

Can someone just tell me about skins so i know from now on?

That "Crystaline Sword" you saw was a Long Sword quest reward from Pre-Searing. Obviously it's worthless.

Rare skins appear on gold or green items (well, most likely to be max damage). Easy as that.

He probably means FoW armor....and its not like Anet would add in a new ascended armor crafter like that without telling us :P

Alternately, people buy a particular skin because they happen to really like it and have had zero luck trying to get it to drop for themselves.

What you mean you guys havent found the UW crafter yet. Shame Shame.

There is even a materials guy there that crafts 50 glittering dust and 1.5k into ectos. Glad not to many know about it then WooT.
