Hi, My computer has really low power(200W) but I really need a new video card to play Guild Wars. Will a 6200 be alright for my power? Will a 6200 be alright for GW? Please don't tell me to get another card, the 6200 is cheap. And I can't be bothered upgrading PSU because I have to change the case as well because I have an HP computer. If I connected the 6200 to my AGP slot would I need to add an extra +12V rail to it?

Specs:

Mainboard : MSI MS-6577
Chipset : Intel i845G
Processor : Intel Pentium 4 @ 2400 MHz
Physical Memory : 512 MB (2 x 256 DDR-SDRAM )
Video Card : Nvidia Corp GeForce4 MX 420 [NV17.3]
Hard Disk : SAMSUNG (80 GB)
DVD-Rom Drive : DVDRW IDE H16X
Monitor Type : Hewlett Packard MX70 - 16 inchs
Network Card : Realtek Semiconductor RT8139 (A/B/C/810x/813x/C+) Fast Ethernet Adapter
Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition 5.01.2600 ServicePack 2
DirectX : Version 9.0c

I used a PSU calculator and it said I'd need 197W.

i think the 6200 is sufficient
in the context of my laptop with
Pentium M 1.73ghz
2GB PC2 4200 DDR Ram 533mhz
5400 RPM 80GB SATA HDD
Nvidia GeForce 6200 Go Turbo cache 128mb
(which basically means part of the menory (96mb) is shared with the ram and the res is on the card itself (32mb)

and guild wars runs perfectly fine on max settings minus antiAliasing
but i usually run on 2nd highest, Also its PCI Express and also consider my ram used to be 512 PC-3200 400mhz and it still ran fairly good, a little load lag and lag during my 1st mob encounter but not something too bad. A new video card would be nice but also if you can consider expanding ram to give guild wars more room to live in would also be nice. Tis all up to you.

hope this helps you in your descision

if you dont have enough power...i am pretty sure you can get an alternate power supply...from like best buy or radio shack or something. You don't have to replace the one that came with the PC...I may be talking out my xxx, but seems to me that you can do something like that.

200W is not enough. I have a GeForce 6200 card and it need minimum 350W.

Your PSU calc score is with the MX 420 right? If that is so, you will most definitely need a new power supply (350W should be adequate like stated above.)
