You can have a one handed, ranged weapon like a spear and have a 20% enchant grip on it. But you can't have any kind of wand with a 20% enchantment grip on it.
I am not saying you should be able to have a wand with mods like +5e^50, 20% recharge on top of an enchant grip.
But I think wands should be able to sacrifice the 20% recharge mods for atleast an enchant mod or something. It would be nice to be able to use a focus and a wand of your attribute to have 20% enchants last longer, instead of wielding an axe and being able to not attack anything as a caster.
Why no mods for wands?

Orphan Anthem
Staffs now are mostly used for max energy with now -energy regen mod. Wands have a focus. but with the intraduction of +5weapons wands are no longer needed unless you want a % boost
Curse You
It's called a +5 enegy sword/axe with an enchanting mod. It gives staves some advantage over wands
Hand of Ruin
because a wand/focus combo can achieve 40/40 on spells, something martial weapons and staves can not.
Opeth
thats the reason why you can have 4 weapon sets + weapons on your inventory.
Anarion Silverhand
There are no mods for wands, because that if they introduced it, it would cause imbalance, and as people have said, noone would use staves.
Njaiguni Blaze
Wands got mods since Nightfall. If u want enchanting get a staff or single-handed martial weapon.
