Avatars

Im having problems with making an avatar. I cant seem to load an avatar if its under 100 x 100 pixels. Its more than 19.5KB tho, but the note in the user CP (pasted below) ses that it can be either 100 x 100 pixels or 19.5KB or less. Is this not working because im using paint or does it have to meet both of the standards?

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

It has to be under both. If it's bigger than 19.5k, you're probably saving it as a .bmp. Try a .jpg, .gif, or .png.

100x100 is for conformity in the look of the site. Less than 19.5 is for less server stress.

How do I save it as something that makes it smaller?

nevermind, i resized it and saved it as something els threw image shack. thx 4 telling me to save it as a different file type
