Mysterious NPC in Mehtani Keys

Okay, i tried guildwiking it and trying to find it in here but either I just can't remember the name or no one has ever seen it o_o

But while doing the Ironfist primary quest (with Corsair Invasion in the list as well), my boyfriend and I came across this random NPC near the edge of the water close to where the group of corsairs for Invasion were (across the giant head statue). His name was like Bahlket or something like that and when I talked to him he prompted me with a dialogue that sorta went like "What am I doing out here" and such and you have button to click and then it ends with something like bowl and water (I wasn't really paying attention >_<). When I clicked on him again the speech bubble appeared and it was like "You have no importance to me."

I wish I had gotten a screencap, but my boyfriend can testify. I went back in there with him to finish Invasion after doing the Ironfist one. This time I had the War Preparations quests on my list. But when we went to find him, he wasn't there o_o I don't know if it was because of the War Preparation quests or not, I'll go back in after finishing this one.

But if anyone knows about this dude please tell o.O

no I looked through the list of NPCs in guildwiki and it's this guy!

Bahltek! But they don't mention him being in the Keys o_O

You sure your not mistaken? Maybe you encountered a bug or something, that is his only known location.

If he really was in that other location, maybe it was just a odd bug.

Maybe, but then I went to zehlon reach and scoured that whole area. I didn't see him. I searched there on my sin and all the setup for the master quests were like there (like the Voices one) but I wasn't able to do them, like they weren't offered.

I don't know if that would affect it or not, but he was definitely not there when I mapped that whole area. I had left it unmapped since I wasn't that big on the mapping so I could easily tell where I had been even with the dots.

And I'm sure I'm not mistaken o_o like i said i was with my boyfriend and he went up to him as well. And I even wrote his name in the chat log so I could reference back (unfortunately it had cleared by the time i was able to do so) but i definitely remember it being like Bahltek and I was actually pretty close in my guess with Bahlket. That's how my boyfriend remembered as well.

I remember being all "wtf o.o" about it cos I definitely did not remember that npc being there and I've been through that area already with my dervish

u arnt mistaken ive seen him there a couple times too, but never put any thought into it. hes next to a small wrecked boat? right? all the way east.

yeah! he's like facing the giant head statue thing.

i just find it weird i can't find him again o_o;

That's only when I finished to talk to him that I remembered this topic ( )
So I wanted to go back there with my character to take screenshots of our conversation...he was gone.
Same with other characters I have.
That's really weird...this NPC talked about a mysterious artefact he was looking for, that he was an alchemist, and that he doesn't need my help.

Is it a clue for a future profession in guild wars?

I can't find him in the keys on ANY of my characters after talking to him and he was talking about a bowl with water of some kind. And then afterward he said i wasn't of any help and not even important (*Hmph* >>)

this NPC really IS mysterious o_o

I am wondering if this has anything to do with Admiral Saidon the Eternal from Fissure of Woe Coast line... hummm... could that be the ghost ship he is talking about? Is it possible the Corsairs have a Rift into the mists as well? hummm Chapter 4 anyone? Don't you just love teasers in chapters? lol

I've found him in another place !

I was playing with my warrior (the same character that met him yesterday...see my previous post), but this time this NPC was in "Lahtenda Bog" explorable area:


I spoke to him, but this time he said something different than yesterday:


As you see, there is no "button" to click to continue his dialogue (yesterday he told me something completely different, and I had to click on a button several times to read all that he had to say).

And if you click again on him...


Hmmm...

Looks like a broken quest to me - by talking to him you move him along to the next step where by the looks of it you have to meet him somewhere else!

Either that or ANet are messing with your head!

well i wanna know where to go from the keys o_O I'll have to try and find him in one of those places o.o...

but i wonder where the starting place is? If there is even one to begin with o_o

what's also weird is that it's a one time only deal, like you can't view him in the same spot with your other characters. so if you talk to him on one char in the bog, you won't be able to on the rest of your chars o_o

i say we form a giant search party >O *not really* xD

And yeah, that lost shot is what he said to me to end it too so that's DEFINITELY him!

i read the dialogue and that's definitely different from what Niuk posted and from what i read from the keys o.o weeeiiiird

and btw, this is total speculation and other people have pointed this out, but with that dialogue that you put up on guildwiki, it really does sounds like something for the fourth campaign o.o

maybe he is talking about Lord Odran A powerful mage..the first "mortal" who enter the rift..unknown where his homeland is...this is mysterious

This is turning into a Druid's Overlook thread - there's no bug and there's no broken quests. He's just an interesting part of the game, nothing more.

perhaps being a high level lightbringer would make you 'important anough' to warrant speaking with? Or some other title...

It possible, but I don't know o.o I only saw him on my ele when she was still on the island and have yet to find him on any other char.

I just think it's fun to try and find the person. But you have to wonder if he appears only on the island or if he can be found on the mainland. So far there have only been reported sightings of him on the island though.
