Hey incase anyone is really ticked off at this mission or quest whatever it is, I found after dying about 50 times a somewhat easier way. This is a masters quest meaning can be very difficult, but anyhow I did this one with henchies and heros. What I found to help me out after dying there is 2 rez shrines opposite each other in this area, and you kneel to summon the spirits, make sure you bring at least 2k with ya just to be safe. Now get every blessing you can from these spirits and it will help you win this very annoying quest, or bring d/p sticks with ya for regen. The reason I used henchies and heros is because everytime I got real people they would leave after dying one time, which is more of a pain than any help. Well I hope this helps anyone who may be having problems with quest, oh also i put minor runes on all my heros to help also which it does. LOL one last thing attack the clerics and scribes first then from there whatever is left.
Peace

Something I've found that helps is to flag all the heroes and henchies up near the shrine to the northeast then run to the spot to start the margonites coming. this way you can get a bunch of them killed off before they all get together in one big group.

what I find works[being a ritualist helps] is to put your NPCs in one spot[try to have a bottle neck area between where your npcs are and where the targets are], set up[example: get your spirits/whatever is needed up], target the most close target of the group, put a hex/attack[or agro if your stuck with mele] on it, have your camera facing your group and after you have their attention, click/run[whatever you'd perfer] back behind your group. Now, it works better if you have a ritualist with offensive spirts set up a couple meters away from your group[between them and the targets], they can hit the targets a bit[and take some of the agro]. Since with this kind of pullling, the spirits should end up with the targets within their range for most of the fight. Worked for all of the "master" ranked quests I've done so far[although I have yet to do this one>_<]

something that helps even more is doing a forum search, where much better tactics towards completing this suprisingly easy master quest (when the correct approach is used) have been well-discussed
