Savannah Heat + Gale Build

Well, I started using this spell in RA a little while back (after I got hit with it in PvE) and the evolution of the build kind of fell into place. I figured that I'd share since I've been running into the build I'm using more and more lately...

Forgive me if this was already posted long ago, I never read the Ele board as I don't have a PvE Ele. I also tried the search function but gwguru's search makes Baby Jesus weep tears of blood stained anarchy. Maybe someone else already came up with this, but I'm happy to have done it myself, regardless

Anyway, here it is.

Elementalist/Dervish

Energy Storage: 10 (9+1)
Air Magic: 5
Fire Magic: 16 (12+4)
Earth Prayers: 8

- Gale (Air Magic)
Knock down target foe for 3 seconds. This Spell causes Exhaustion. (50% failure chance with Air Magic 4 or less.)
Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:5

- Savannah Heat [Elite] (Fire Magic)
You create Savannah Heat at target foe's location. For 5 seconds, all nearby foes take 21 damage each second and an additional 21 damage for each second this Spell has been in effect.
Energy:15 Cast:2 Recharge:20

- Immolate (Fire Magic)
Target foe is struck for 63 fire damage and is set on fire for 3 seconds.
Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:5

- Glowing Gaze (Fire Magic)
Target foe takes 53 fire damage. If that foe is on Fire, you gain 10 Energy.
Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:5

- Mystic Regeneration (Earth Prayers)
For 20 seconds, you have +3 Health regeneration for each enchantment on you.
Energy:10 Cast:0.25 Recharge:5

- Fire Attunement (Fire Magic)
For 62 seconds, you are attuned to Fire. You gain 1 Energy plus 30% of the base Energy cost of the skill whenever you use Fire Magic.
Energy:10 Cast:2 Recharge:45

- Aura of Restoration (Energy Storage)
For 60 seconds, you are healed for 317% of the Energy cost each time you cast a Spell.
Energy:10 Cast:0.25 Recharge:5

- Resurrection Signet ()
Resurrect target party member. That party member is returned to life with 100% Health and 25% Energy. You may use this Signet only once per mission.
Energy:0 Cast:3 Recharge:0

How it works...

Savannah Heat on a casting target -> Gale to keep 'em in it -> Immolate -> Glowing Gaze

That will take down most soft targets. If you catch anyone without 70+ armor vs. fire off guard, they are pretty much dead. That's pretty much it.

Questions? Comments? I usually don't post builds here because I figure someone's already thought of them but I figured I'd give sharing a try

I'd go assassin secondary for feigned neutrality. You can also bring deadly paradox that way, making a fairly solid gank character (though you'd have to probably drop rez for a getaway skill like dash).

Anyway, I've seen the build in action and it's really strong.

Not a bad idea. I'll play around with it. The only problem I would expect is the fact that I won't be able to heal and cast at the same time like I can with Mystic Regen. Subbing in Mirage Cloak for Aura of Restoration might be another viable option...

gale+prodigy is hot, so no, it's not uncommon. It's only problematic depending on gale usage. Although usually if you exhaust half your energy to use it, it probably was worth it. Unless you're bad.

Best. Anaology. Eva.
I remember, back in the day, when the search function used to work decently well. You could actually tell people to go use it. Arena Net must have decided it was too powerful and needed to be balanced after lots of people complained about having to use it. *cough*

A. Pick up loot
B. Spend your faction at the Priest
C. Curse how in PvE there are a lot of things with high armor and more than 500hp

this is one of the most killer builds i have ever seen.

when my guild and I went into ta(40+wins) we only lost twice.
this was the only build we lost to decisively.

I've seen and played this build quite a few times lately, and as Thom said, Feigned Neutrality seems a better choice to me rather than Mystic Regeneration.

If you're playing TA and trust your monk, you could also pickup GoLE and Archane Echo for another copy of Heat.

w00t I've seen someone using savannha+firestorm+searing heat.... and then gale ^^^

But it could be quiet nice to add a snare to this build as it's possible to get out of savannah before the gale hits.
