Around 2-3 months. Not sure exactly.
Hockster
Two months. My former guild had it's leader permabanned and it was 2 months before demotion. The longest serving officer is promoted to leader.

It might be 2 but im pretty sure that it is 3 months. my guild leader was very busy in real life and hadnt played for 3 months. One day i logged on and saw that i had a new guild leader!
Well everything got straightened out and thats why i think that it is 3 months.
why did you want to know in the first place?
Hope this helps

It is definitely 2 months, as Hockster stated.
2 months to the date, the officer with the longest tenure is promoted.

I would guess it would go to the longest member.

Wait wait , did they change this?
I thought there was no way to get rid of a inactive leader.

I am not sure if that was ever the case, but I can attest to the fact that it is now 2 months to the day from the time the leader last logged in until he is removed from the spot.
I was promoted to guild leader by default this past month (December), exactly 2 months after one of our leaders (the one in the leader spot, obviously) was banned permanently from the game.
Hope that helps.

If there is a ex gl, he is promoted whether he is the longest standing officer or not.

What if the guild leader is inactive for 2+ and any old Guild leaders are inactive for 2+ months. I am the only active officer right now but I am the newest Officer as well

I don't mean to sound condescending, but maybe you should shop around for a new guild. Unless they happen to be RL friends of yours, it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot to be gained from remaining all alone in an inactive group.
Darcy
The wiki Guild page (discussion tab) has only two mentions; one says most active officer, the other oldest.
You'll have to wait and see.

Honestly his reasons are none of our business so long as they do not breach the ToS, he asked a simple question which seems to have been effectively answered.
