Assassin secondary?
1 pages • Page 1
Assassin already has condition removal built into their skillset, so it's a lot more up in the air than with other classes. I like to use warrior for an attack speed skill. You can also try necromancer for Mark of Pain, or whatever else you can think of. If you find yourself taking all assassin skills, which is very likely, you can always use A/Mo/P/Rt for a hard res skill.

Clearly superior, huh? I disagree. For one, Falling Spider requires them to be knocked down and Black Spider Strike requires them to be hexed, while Apply Poison doesn't. For another, you can continually hit them with poison even if they remove it once or twice with Apply Poison, while you can only hit them at most once per recharge of the Spider skills. And finally, you can hit more than one enemy with Apply Poison, but not with the Spider skills.

You disagree. Fine
But I'm not an auto-attacker, as you seem to be.

Knockdown is easily achieved by horns of the ox/shock/iron palm/mark of instability/scorpion wire and there are a lot of hexes to choose from just with a primary assassin.
And as apply poison is under wilderness survival, you'll probably have to sacrifice shadow arts, and I wouldn't want to have to use troll unguent as my self heal...

apply poison is fine if your wanting to inflict it on many people but thats not an assassins job...
I think /W is your best bet its the most versitile with attack buffs that wont need any attribute spending(so more healing for early on) and there are some great warrior elite you can use too.
The other secondaries can be adapted and become exelent too but they arent so gd for starters

Let's not split hairs. I'm not a totally extraordinary assassin when I play, but seems to me that you'd may as well just get hard-hitting skills and augment them with AP. For example, Apply poison + Death Blossom. Need I say more? You really only lose 5 extra energy from it when you consider you don't have to waste time and effort knocking them down with Deadly Asp, and what's an assassin's only real means of survival? Efficiency. Fast spike and quit while you're ahead. Good way to tie up a group with worrying about a condition while you plot a hasty retreat. My opinion, anyway. As I said, 'sin's really not my first pick.
