Im revamping my primeval armor for derv, and i need some advice to what runes work best, on what parts of the armor. Im using windwalker for sure, but do i want just one ww rune, or do i need more than one.
I remember reading someones thread and they were saying ww on the chest and legs. My current runes are major scythe-head, sup vig + ww on the chest. Minor myst on the Vamb, minor wind on the pants, minor earth on the shoes.
Could someone with more insight with Nightfall advise me to what the best placement for the runes should go on what parts of the armor, and the benefits from it. Sup Vig on the chest? Or is something more beneficial go there?
thnx in adv

I normally stick with superior rune of attribute type on head, sup vigor on chest, various minor runes I might need on the rest.

I have - sup sythe on head, minor mysticism on chest, sup vigor on leggings, and minor earth/wind on the arms and legs.

I use radiant insignias, but windwalkers on chest becuase you get hit the most there.

Wrath, it looks like you're confusing runes and insignias.

A rune's effect is universal. It doesn't matter where you put it! The only rule of thumb is that it's best to put your main attribute rune on your headpiece, that way you can swap headpieces when you want to change your build radically.

Insignias vary depending on where on the body you put them. The key thing to note is that if you're running any kind of armour boost insignia you must put it on the chestpiece (and probably the leggings as well), as that's where you're hit the most.

On a dervish you don't really need Radiant inscriptions. I'd suggest Blessed or Windwalkers for chest and leggings, and either Radiant or Survivor's everywhere else.

I run radiant on all my pieces due to heavy enchant use, and because I use enchants that either give me health or extra armor, so it isn't a big deal for me, but I am generally down to just a few points of energy at all times even with my Radiants.

I like to use Blessed Insignias. Windwalker can be nice, but when you get down to 1/0 enchants, you're not doing too great. Blessed can be maintained more often than not.

I personally use Windwalkers on pretty much every piece. I don't bother with Radiants since mysticism is all the energy management I'll ever need and extra armor never hurts. A 60 point hit in the arm is still a 60 point hit. I'd say when making the call between raidant and windwalker look at your mysticism attribute. I have mine at 12 and it seems to work out just fine for me. If you have low mysticism then I'd say cover your chest and leggings with windwalkers and go for radiants on everything else for the energy boost. Attunement runes don't hurt either. Those 2 points, while piddly at a glance can be a lifesaver more often than not.

but I am generally down to just a few points of energy at all times even with my Radiants See, there's your problem. Increased maximum energy doesn't actually do anything for you if your continuous energy load is too high - who cares if your max is twenty or a hundred if you're permanently stuck hovering on five?

Radiants should only be used if you need to spend a lot of energy in a very short period of time (e.g. an expensive Assassin dagger chain). Otherwise you need energy management that provides a continuous return, such as increased Mysticism or a Zealous scythe.

This isn't really about runes, but somewhat close. I was wondering what hoods besides 1 with +1 and sup runed scythe mastery do I need to have for builds? I am assuming maybe 1 mysticism with a superior rune incase I want to use an enchant tank build for farming or something. Do you really need a sup wind or earth prayers hat for anything?

The only one you might want to have aside form the ones you've got is an Earth Prayers with a superior rune in case you want to run a Mystic Sandstorm build. So far I've only seen that build used for PvP though however there are possible applications in PvE. For the most part a mysticism hood and scythe mastery hood should suffice.

Mercenary, the only thing I'd recommend would be an extra hood with +1 Scythe and a Minor Scythe Mastery rune.

...That way, if you're ever stuck somewhere with heavy Death Penalty you can swap hats for a quick 75 point max health boost. The loss to your attack damage would be small-but-noticeable, but when you're at 60DP the extra health counts for more.
