Why not add an NPC at your Guild Hall which will take you to your house, cabin, or w/e. Each home would be fully customizable, but, would cost money.
I.E.: Tent, Shack, Cabin, etc.
Each one would be bigger and cost more money, and each would have a lil additional storage than the other. Would house your storage chest, say a place to hang a few prized possesions (such as those few perfect weapons ur not using), a shelf to hold all your dyes, some keyslot places. It wouldn't be a big buuild to download. You could just use one of the existing islands on the PvP map. Add a tent, shack, etc. on it and would be your residence. Be able to add plants outside, or a pet (i.e. warthog, moabird) just something on the isle.
