Ritualist, should it have new spirits?

The question I have to pose to all of you that seemed to dawn on me from some people whining about searing flames is ideas for new Ritualist spirits.

Hear me out, would it be a bad twist for a spirit to prevent burning to your allies for example? Now, of course I know how to play the Ritualist, and I've seen total spirit spamming pros work around the limitations with ease. However wouldn't this bring about the Ritualist a new route into pvp play? As the very useful Shelter spirit has fallen to nerf, and out of desired use, what more can a Ritualist serve for the team? (that can fit without gimping the team's goal)

Yes, it can do monking on it's own style, weapon spells have a great advantage(can't remove em), spirits do multiple things for your allies, mostly are just heals in so many words. And finally spirits for mediocre damage (without a dedicated build).

So, would it not be an accepted idea to give the Ritualist more play routes into pvp and even pve? Such as a spirit called... (oh idk) Antidote where it prevents poison in the summoned area of effects? Or even reduce it's time by 75% for instance?

My goal is simply to see what people's opinions on having the Ritualist come back out of the closet and show what it has to offer for a full team. You can see how amazing the Paragon fits in, the Assassin can still serve roles if played correctly, but the Ritualist can still fall short vs it's longer preparation times.

Calling the powers from the dead sure sounded bad ass, but even channeling attacks just don't have enough punch for it to be worth using in a serious pvp fight.
Maybe I'm just crazy? But I don't think it would hurt to post anyway.

Not quite as powerful as what you are suggesting.

The problem with searing flames is that when you have 4 eles spaming it it will almost always do damage, at least 3 the 4 will hit for damage. Also you can use mark of rodgort so that searing flames damage triggers everytime. Burning in itself is 70% of max degeneration.

I agree that ritualists need some better support skills, they were almost able to keep up with monks in healing until healer's boon, maybe something similar to that for ritualists would be nice, or an enchantment that triggers a heal whenever you cast a weapon spell.

Another problem with ritualist skills is that the descriptions seem pretty good, then you look at the reuse time and energy cost and immediatly discover that its not worth putting on the skill bar.

Well don't I feel like a fool, I totally forgot about that spirit.... pffff that pretty much just crushed my groin.

Thanks, your right, and the rest I agree with.

I'll do my homework next time, and also, not be so deprived of sleep.
