Mine is 7 hours in 2 months played.

Im not going to lie, the paragon is so boring, they dont even have close up melee fight. Why do paragons throw spears?

guildwiki doesnt even have a decent build for paragon, and most ppl only wants paragon to be a support type. Are you having fun with yours? Even a mesmer is funner to play.

My Paragon is my 3rd favourite character (after my necro and ele) I made him a support Motivation paragon and have had tons of fun finishing the game with him. Maybe the paragon is just not your play style...

Check out Zinger's Paragon/Warrior build in the PvE section. You'll have an absolute blast playing it and watching all your enemies die.

I loved my Paragon in the preview, but when Nightfall hit the shelves I just lost all interest.
I really couldn't face noob island again, and besides, I had my warrior's titles to get.
So he sat on the shelf whilst I took my warrior through.
After that, I still couldn't face noob island, but on top of that, I'd burned out capping all of the elites on my warrior and was resenting having to level a paragon and buy / cap all of his skills.

So I took another foreign character through, my mesmer.
Mesmer has begun to feel a little unfocussed now thanks to numerous nerfs and lack of specialisation, and feels rather listless in PvE now, but I still enjoyed it more than the prospect of playing my paragon.
So I got my mes through the game and capped all of his elites and bought all of his skills.

STILL no paragon lovin', so I brought the sin out of retirement, a class I neglected to play that much in Factions, but has really begun to shine now.
I've had a GREAT time with him, and even made sure to go back through Factions and collect all of his skills and elites from there before doing the same in Elona.

And now?
I even traded in my sin's Book of Secrets for the green spear "Prayer of the Forgotten", but the enthusiasm I felt for the paragon class in pre-release is still not forthcoming.
So he sits there, twiddling his thumbs waiting for the day he's gonna get some lovin'.

I'm guessing that'll be around about the same time the next chapter comes out.

As for my dervish, well he makes a good mule...

Please ANet, no more new classes. It's getting ridiculous.

What I will say is that I think classes need to reach a critical mass before they become acceptable.
New classes just don't have the skill flexibility of core classes that have been around since Prophecies, so they feel limited and stifling in comparison.
I think that it's only when a respectable amount of skills are available to a class that they're worth playing, and due to the nature of GW, that won't happen until the chapter after the new class was introduced.

But that's just me.

I see hundreds of people out there playing paragons, so ANet got something right.

Yeah Zinger has a great build. Personally I just started on one, I'm loving on my Dervish right now so he is getting most of the attention, but I can see a lot of interesting skill combinations there that will be worth exploiting. I'm not too bad at coming up with builds, if I come up with a good one like Zinger I'll post it here too. Right now I'm still pimping my EDA build. LoL Go check it out if you have a dervish it works like a champ.

Mine is lvl 13... Oh well, they just are not that fun to play with I think. I play my dervish like crazy, mainly because a Dervish can self heal, dish out HUGE dmg, tank, heal party members, and pressure baddies to no end.

I tried it out doesn't seem so bad but I prefer my main char. more being the core class of char.I always play them first through any new campaign.I still have one don't play it much like my Rit who is at The Enternal Grove not to muc activity in Factions.

The build in question, which everyone loves, is: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10094729

However, I find that Paragons in general are a weak class. They only have 2 worthwhile elites (Incoming and SoR), everything else is utter trash.

If ToF weren't so good, paragons would be dead.

Well, I like my paragon. While I haven't gotten far with her (I've been playing my main a lot- my ranger) she's a great deal of fun to play for me.

I loved playing my paragon on the starter island, but now that I've gotten to the mainland I'm slowly starting to lose interest. It's partially because I'm trying to get Survivor[3], and I don't wanna screw it up and be stuck, but also (being a somewhat uncreative sort) I haven't been able to come up with a good build, nor has anyone else that I've seen. I've considered trying that TOF build, but I'm not much of a melee person.

I played a Motivation Paragon during the Island and A bit of Elona, then a MoR Spike Spearman (which.. is a rather bunch of fun). However I've found that ToF keeps me most interested. Excellent build Zinger314. Large props to you.

I love my Paragon. I probably play her as much as my monk, more than most of my other characters, save my ele.

The shouts are great fun, I usually play a Command build, specialising in party wide buffs. The OP said 'People always want them in a support role'. Well, that's what they do best. You want a melee characer? Be a warrior. Or an assasin. Or a dervish....

I am OK With the Paragon but they are better imo as a secondary prof than first prof.

I am liking mine though as he is a beastmaster/spearthrow dmg dealer .

I play a Command Paragon and I love it. You can provide unstrippable buffs to the team in the form of shouts and Incoming is insanely good against spikes you get at the start of a fight.

In my view a Paragon isn't supposed to be a massively ofensive character...and it's wrong that people should only think of them as such. Having said that I just took a look at Zinger's build...looks awesome and I will have to try it at some point

When Nightfall was being announced the Paragons were described as a "Battle Commander"...Shouting comands from the backline to aid the team which is how I generall play mine. Occaisionally I go slightly more offensive and switch to P/E and use Glimmering Mark, Conjure Lightning and a Shocking Spear...it's fun to play but I need to get energy-management sorted out on it. This allows me to use a shield with "+45HP while enchanted" mod on and it means I'll be Enchanted to Swift Javelin can't be blocked or evaded.

I love my paragon, but I've always liked ranged dps classes. Ranger was nice, but I like the ability to buff and increase my entire group at once. Really fun with henchies, trying to figure out how to get skills without using faction to unlock them is a pain. I guess I'm just not far enough in the game, time to go play some more.

Being a huge fan of support classes, I love the Paragon, I dare say it's my favorite class in GW for the time being. I myself don't use many spear mastery skills save for Spear of Lightning as there are much better damage dealers out there. Furthermore the Paragon is supposed to be a support/buff class, not an offensive ranged attacker

I've already beaten Elona with him and half of Tyria and Cantha as well and I plan on taking him to the next chapter as well.

Yes, I am having fun with the Paragon.

Yes. Paragon is seated just below Ranger, my favorite class. Steamrolled through Tyria and Elona with protector on both. I have reserves about going to Cantha, a few too many Vizunah Square horror stories for me to risk Survivor. They're on Fire! is an excellent skill especially when combined with a low-health Ranger/Paragon running Barrage and Paragon Command skills. A lot of the Paragon skills are subpar and do need modification.
