Okay part of mmorpg to me is to be able to look nice and distinguish myself from others. But with gw, everyone basically looks the same, majority of people have same armor, and everyone is lvl 20, so there is barely any distinction between you from any other players at all compare to other mmorpgs.

-I suggest anet make it so you can show your wep/shield/bow and so on in towns. Just like how you can turn on/off your cape.

Unlike other mmorpg where people share same maps to level/farm and everyone can see your wep/equip. In GW, you already have your individual map for PVE, so only people in your party can see what your "nice/godly" weapons are. But with the introduction of NF and heroes people become less reliant on pugs and do everything with heroes.

What I am saying is, if I were to spend 300 ectos to get a torment shield for example, I would like to show it off in towns so people can see. Not just for me, koss, and alesia to see =p

-but as far as I know anet rarely does anything for pve so why bother =/ Just an idea and would like to here some comments, even though if there is support for this idea anet probably wont do it anyways.

Sheaths for swords.=D Long words sheathed on your back, short swords/daggers sheathed at your belt.
Other big weapons like axes could also be on your back. Staffs, rods, spears could be just held in your hands while in towns.
That would rock I think...

It'd be a nice idea, but try to imagine the possible lag that it could cause in the game... every weapon set on you would also have to be transferred as data to all the other people in the district.

About the 'same armor' thing... if it's about you not being special, make your own combo of armors

I strongly doubt ANet will implement this (even though I wouldn't mind having it), but technical issues (latency.) will make this idea rather uninteresting for both the devs as the players (the lag in some outposts is bad enough as it is)

Well I am no expert on server latency/technical aspect, but Anet seem to operate fine with the extra event like wintersday without much trouble on lag for the players, so adding wep display in town shouldnt be too much trouble =/.

The cheap shot at ANet's support of pve was really unwarranted, especially as we're getting off of a PvE festival. v_v

As for the actual suggestion...I think it'd cause more lag in towns than there already is. Not that I wouldn't love to be able to show off my bow collection in town, but I just don't know if it's worth it.

I think its a great idea personally.

The lag that capes of all things create are minimal, so i cant really see much of a problem with weapons, especially if weapons are concealed (eg, scabbard), not sure how other trolls would take it though

one thing though..how do you put an icy dragon sword in a scabbard o_0

/signed. It would be awesome to run around town with your equipment out, especially with candy cane weapons and stuff floating around with no use other than to show off, and the lag shouldn't be TOO bad (if the game can handle armor, it should be able to handle this). Also, it could help with trades, because if you are looking at weapons, seeing the skins on somebody else would help you decide if you want it for your character.

It seems to me that the capes would cause more latency problems then weapons and swords would.

SF? Domain of Anguish? A whole new continent to explore every six months? I'm pretty satisfied.

As for the topic at hand, it could be interesting, but it'd definitely have to be an option you could toggle off for performance reasons.

Always thought it was nice to see other people's gear in games like Final Fantasy XI Online, and would like to see it happen in Guild Wars as well! It would definitely add some flair to the whole special skin weaponry in my opinion. Finally people with some very nice gear would the attention they deserve. And finally people could see if the so called 'ultra rare skin' really is that rare after all...

It would be nice to see what everyone's using, but to me it's not all that nessecarry.

You could always resort to spamming CTR+weapon set ^_^

We don't need players showing off their "leetness" in towns. We have our high end armor skins, that's enough.

You want to show off in towns? That's what titles are for. I wouldn't look forward to frequent lagstorms either.

Sorry, i cant stand showing off. I want no grind or as least as possible. Meaning, i was everyone to be able to afford FoW armor, and then, when people can choose between 10 armors, there will be diversity in armors and weapon skins. Unlike now where everyone has same armor because they cant afford others.

Anets servers already suck too much, Im not going to lag in every town just so you can show a crappy sundering fellblade.

Useless... I think perhaps a limited version of it might suffice though. People in your party can see each other's gear in towns?

This would satisfy people who like to show off stuff; can make it possible to show in trade by partying up, and doesn't lag everyone else out.

I have no desire to see your gear, especially if you aren't even in a party with me - it has NOTHING to do with my gaming experience. In fact, I'd rather you weren't even visible unless I select "see non-party members".
