Ive tried heros battles only a couple of times, and got soundly whooped, no big surprise there. Never had anyone ask me fight or roll, erhaps they are asking if you want to decide the match with a /roll, never heard of that but who knows. I imagine a match betweeen two equally skilled opponents could go on for a long time, so possibly rather than do that, the two people roll, higher number wins, lower number maps out, and the other guy gets the win ? This is total speculation btw, so if Im totally wrong ,my apologies.
Heroes battle is a title grind, that is all I got out of the experience(the staging area has a creeepy feel to it for me), so possibly by doing the above 2 people could experience a bunch of matches, randomly assigned winners, and they both come out of it with a handful of points for their title, as opposed to slogging it out for a half an hour, and only one point towards either of their titles. Sounds pretty lame to me. IMO Titles have turned GW into one big farmers nation grinding it out.
